he’s been the artist in residence at année 2000 for almost 20 years. when the establishment began, it had more of a futuristic vibe, but is now more of a throwback lounge, considering the dated name. jackson performs a mix of his own work & cover versions.
jackson has released three albums. one, as jackson gold & the jewels, titled videomance, & two solo albums, automantique & romanticon. all follow similar themes of desolation & yearning for love, yet jackson’s two solo albums have a far more pop sound than jackson’s album with his band. videomance was released in 1998, automantique in 2003, & romanticon in 2016. why the hiatus of 13 years ?? creativity.
