“I’ve gotten much better. Only miss a couple of times, but I’m getting better”

”Cool…does that mean I can take your class too?”
“I can modify the lessons for you Some of it Is it to big for you Its for older students” He suggests
“Do you practise moving or just plain targets”
“Aww man…” gives out a huff “some of them are moving. Those are the ones that I have missed.”
“When can I start taking classes like the bigger kids?”
“I said I would teach some of it to you Just not the in the field stuff “
“I can do some field ops just not the fighting stuff save that till your older”
“Really? You promise?”
He very much wanted to be just like his dad. A big Avenger who helps save the world.
“I promise “ He smiles down at his boy
“it might take me a day or so to come up with am idea but im coming up with something soon “
“Awesome, thanks dad. It’s ok if if takes awhile I know you’re really busy with work.“
Ollie was just excited that he would be able to spend time with his dad to practice and train. He missed those days, not that he was mad that his dad worked a lot, he just being able to spend a little time with him like they used to.
“Hey dad…..do you think I can sit with you and watch what you do at work?”
“I think you would get bored Oliver I do and Im the adult “ He sighs as he runs his fingers through his hair
“We can go down the range though Maybe you can show me how your doing or I can set up some moving targets “
“You get bored with your work? Do you miss being out catching bad guys? If you miss it how come you spend most of your time in the office then?”
Ollie was probably asking too many questions and he hoped that he was annoying his dad. He saw his dad tug at his hair and wondered if he was making his dad mad.

Maria wasn’t a great cook and unless it was ordering out or making spaghetti, Clint was the one that did the majority of the cooking. However tonight was special and she wanted to do something nice for him and to hopefully ease his mind on work. If it wasn’t for him she wouldn’t have gotten through it all herself. She was lucky to have him by her side at home and work.
She spent a good part of the day trying to make a special dinner thankfully Jay showed up just in time to help or else it would have all been a disaster.

He walks throuigh with a twin on each side Maria had gone to town on the meal and it smelled great
“Is this all for me?” He asks softly walking over
“Mom worked really hard on your surprise.” Jayson gave her dad a big hug best she could considering the twins were clinging to each side.
“I baked your favorite for dessert so make sure you leave some room.”

“Is Nate going to be here too?”
A pair of arms grabbed Astrid and lifted her up 8nto the air
" Of course I am" He would be there cause it kept the kids happy and food
Jay fed him well
“All for you baby…” she smiled at him “you deserve it….and so much more. Thankfully I had Jayson’s help or else we would be eating frozen pizzas again.”
She chuckled as Nate snuck in quietly and picked Astrid up. .
Maria hugged Clint, she had never been happier to have her family around.

Jayson watched her parents and smiled. She hoped that one day she had a life like her parents.
She couldn’t be happier with the family she has…listening to Astrid laugh as Nate picks her up suddenly, Ollie trying to sneak a bite of sweets, the babies and having Nate. It was nice that he was there too.

Astrid screamed and laughed when two arms wrapped her up and picked her up in the air.
”Nate!” She laughed harder seeing her big brother, he was usually out roaming around the farm or playing games in his room.
Ollie gave Nate a high five as he snuck a tiny taste of some of the sweets Jay had made.

”having a family...I’ve never had a mommy and daddy before or a big brother and sister, and now I have a baby sister and brother, and a uncle and aunt.. I have my own room and a garden and we live by the water, but what I like best. I like when we all sit down for dinner at night and breakfast in the morning.”
She looked over at her dad and looked confused “daddy did I say something wrong?” he still had a smile on his face but he looked like he was going to cry.
“No Princess, you were very honest and honest is best, your story reminds me of mine , and im glad I got to make yours better . Once apon a time all I had was your Uncle Barney.. and I was about your age “
“It took a long time for me to find your mom and have a home I didn't have to worry about I met some amazing people along the way, like your Aunty Tash “ He smiles warmly trying to keep the tears away

“Hey little dude “ He smiles as a tar threatens to leak from his eyes “Cant keep your mom waiting do we “ He was glad of the rescue not wanting to dip onto the rougher parts of his history

“Don’t tell her I told you, but she’s been in the kitchen all day trying to make you something special. It’s a good thing Jay showed up when she did.“
“It’s not your birthday yet….but she said she wanted to do something nice because you’re awesome at work.”

“I found these pictures..” she places a bunch of pictures of her dad in his Hawkeye suit onto the table and a few of aunt Nat and the others.

“Those are good tears, you and the others make my life good Not silly titles but my family I get reminded life is good “

Astrid sat coloring next her dad picking out the right shades of purple for his costume, never looking up from her page and asked
“Daddy did you know that you were going to adopt us when you and mommy found us?”
“No I did not, when I first met you and Ollie you were lost in an arcade “ He tells her honest “I got attacked by bunny cause she thought I was a bad man “
“I am glad though you became my daughter and Ollie my son you made my life Just as special as Eternity and JR”
“Me too…I didn’t like staying at the compound very much when you first found us, but it was a lot nicer than where we were living, ‘specially when it was really cold outside.”
“bunny is sorry that she attacked you, but she likes it here too and is happy you adopted us.”
