A Tutta Pizza Fest in LA
“A Tutta Pizza,” is an Italian phrase which translates to All-Out Pizza. This fantastic pizza event just happened this past Sunday at the Hollywood Palladium. It was an All-You-Can-Eat pizza slices event from the best pizzerias from Los Angeles. The Pizzeria Lineup consisted of Delicious Pizza, L’ Antica Pizzeria Da Michele, Olive Wood Pizza, La Morra, Eataly LA, The Urban Oven, Provami, Forno Fama, Dagwoods, Chi-Pie, and Apollonia’s Pizzeria. These pizzerias showcased the best Neapolitan pizzas in the Los Angeles area. The chefs showed off their passion making pizzas. The pizzerias had the different styles from New York, Chicago, Roman, and Neapolitan. For many years the Los Angeles pizza scene was a laughing stock. Now Italian and East Coast chefs migrate to the West Coast implementing their styles of making pizzas. Each bite I had of each pizza slice made me feel like I was in the little alleyways of Naples, Italy or overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge in Dumbo. “A Tutta Pizza,” featured many special guests including top pizza chefs Chris Bianco, Nancy Silverton, Daniele Uditi, Los Angeles Times Deputy Food Editor Jenn Harris, and food writer Ben Mims. These pizza chefs make their pizzas like it’s a piece of art. Walking around getting pizza, drinking beer, and seeing people laughing and smiling shows what joy pizza brings to people. The chefs’ number one goal at “A Tutta Pizza,” is to bring smile to people’s faces. Pizza is part of the Italian, Chicago, and New York culture. Seeing Angelinos taking in the pizza culture and making it as part of their own culture. At this year’s LA Food Bowl, “A Tutta Pizza,” became such an important event with numerous special guests. I can’t imagine how much bigger “A Tutta Pizza,” will be in 2020.
