It's been several months since she left New York. After a long long discussion both her and her sister decided that selling their family home was for the best.
With what money they had left Fin brought her sister and her niece back with her to New York. She was able to get a decent apartment for them to live in, in the same building she was able to get into.
Now she just had to get back to work. Her sister was able to find a job so Fin watched over niece.
One of the main things she did once she had a chance was send a package to SHEILD for Mrs Barton. A simple small picture and a note saying "I'm back"

When Maria walked to her office she found a package waiting for her. She wondered who it was from when she opened the note and then called.
"Hello Fin, when did you get back?"
She had just gotten her niece down for her nap when her phone rang. She smiles as she answers it.
"Afternoon Commander, I've been back bout three months now. Just been getting my sister and niece situated in their new apartment. I brought them back to New York with me. How are things on your end?"
“Glad to hear. Things have been busy, but we’re managing. Good to hear that your back. Let me know if you need anything as you all get settled in and I’ll see what we can do”
