December 13, 2018 | Yesterday, I took a stroll through my town’s downtown square and I swear this place looks so much like Stars Hollow. I also picked up a few books from the library to read over the holidays including “Little Fires Everywhere.”

One Day at a Time

In One Day at a Time Netflix Episode “Hello, Penelope” when Penelope is off her antidepressants and gets home from jogging a mile and ½ from her kids school, when Schnider notes how sweaty and exhausted she is, after he asks if she joined a softball (or another sport) team and says no, he asks if someone is chasing her and then immediately stands behind her, prepared to defend her and that’s one of the underlooked moments of the series. Schnider is hipster rich boy who tries to be a feminist and most of his comedy is derives from his trip ups and Elena or Penelope correcting him, and this moment shows that he’s truly that guy who will pretend to be a woman’s boyfriend to scare off her stalker. Sure, he’s comically cowardly and looks like the guy who will run at the 1st sign someone wants to fight, but that moment showed me that he at least understands that he knows that women do get stalked or chased by creeps and even though he knows he’s not that strong, he still tries to protect Penelope when he thought she was in danger, and that, is why that is one of his underlooked moments.
