It’s been a long ass time since I was on here but I’d just like to say thank you. I graduated high school this week and couldn’t have done it without the love and support on this platform. During the worst year of my life I turned to tumblr to create a community I desperately needed and it worked.

Thank you for talking me down when I was on the verge of a breakdown. Thank you for the funny asks that I still look back on today. Thank you for letting me share my ideas. Thank you for celebrating my birthday when no one else did. Thank you for supporting me during the hardest period of my life.

deh toronto!

on wednesday i saw the second performance of deh in toronto and it. was. fucking. amazing!!! here’s a little list of spoilers/details from the show :)

the band was on a platform above the stage! it looked really cool

before the show started you could hear little pings and cellphone noises

robert is so good as evan, literally the best

“fuck you!” “fuck you!” “zoe that is not cOnStRuCtIvE!!”

connor literally glared into the audience when cynthia said he wasn’t high

jared has a really nerdy voice

“no way….” *awkward 10 second pause* “josé”

THEY DID THE KNEE DANCE THINGY

evan and connor have this really cool handshake during sincerely me hOW DID THEY DO THAT

stephanie’s voice is fucking beautiful i could listen to it all day

robert mixed up the first two lines in if i could tell her it was really adorable

“you looked really pretty - UHHHHHHHHH - it looked pretty cool”

he didn’t actually kiss her at the end of the song, just leaned in

evan jumped over his bed during disappear

you will be found literally brought me to tears but what else is new

“so, you and zoe…” “oh wOW look at this glove”

larry broke down during that one line in to break in a glove

evan literally put his hands on zoe’s arms and bowed to her and said “thank you” when she said she wasn’t breaking up with him

of course she did the same thing after

there was a part in only us where zoe jumped into evan’s arms and their mics came together for a second and it was loud

“fuck you, evan. asshole”

every time evan turned to try to escape during good for you, the person in front of him would step forward and the projectors would have these little bursts of squares and rectangles (looks better than i described it lmao)

there was a gasp from a person in the back of the audience when connor asked evan if he let go

cried in that scene btw

i cannot describe with words how amazing words fail was

there were so. many. tears.

literally. evan would not stop crying i felt so conflicted

there was a hot minute in so big/so small where evan and heidi just hugged while heidi sang

evan works at pottery barn!! not a new thing just a friendly reminder

it suits him ok

anyways

evan’s little monologue during the finale made me cry in the happy but also sad way

“he’ll keep going until he sees the sun”

that line sent me

finale was beautiful

re: singing in the shower

so i know that there are some musical songs that aren’t easy to sing especially while you’re soaking wet (no) but there are some that, while in the shower, when you sing sounds absolutely amazing

(in chinese we have a word for this it’s called 爽 but i have NO idea how to translate that)

so i figured i’d make things easier by listing out the best musical songs to sing in the shower, a top ten buzzfeed article

What has happened since I disappeared?

1. I finally came out to my parents as trans and was met with almost immediate support. This included going back to therapy and looking into medication. I’ve been on anti depressants since August 2017 which has drastically changed my overall happiness as well as my relationship with my parents and sister who have become the most important people in my life.

2. Junior year was a learning curve for me when it came to balancing my life. I was able to find a happy medium between stressed and happy. I was even able to go back to theater as myself, Quinten, and was welcomed back with open arms to a family that always cared about me no matter my gender.

3. Legal name + gender change! My transition hasn’t been sunshine and rainbows and I’ve had to deal with many cases of transphobia that threatened my safety at work and school. I’ve really grown from these fearful experiences and hope to help younger students when it comes to dealing with real world lgbtphobia. And along those lines I became president of my school’s gsa! I’m super excited to help people my age and younger through a safe club.

4. I’ve made three really solid friendships...one online, two in my town. Lily, Percy, and Alice (these aren’t their real names) mean so much to me. Percy and I can talk for hours on the phone or just sit their quietly or play dnd and it’s nice to have that stability even from states away. Alice and I will sit down and write while talking about fandoms we love or serious topics about life. And while most of the fandom topics usually end with me asking “why would you make me sad?” I’ve come to enjoy them. And lily? We have the most active adventures. We geocach while hiking, make videos, walk in muddy riverbeds, paint like we have no care in the world, or even just lay down and listen to music. All these people have become my rocks and I’ve let them know that I do love them.

5. I did two shows and am working on number three (Crazy for You)! In winter of 2017 I was in Mary Poppins as Robertson Ay (my first named role!) and became very close to my scene partner Giselle. And in summer of 2018 I got to be Peter Pan (one of my dream roles) and Giselle (the heart face) was my Wendy! So she’s become a very important person to me and knows I love her to death. And Mia (rainbow face) who was my Jane and is so damn funny and together we can kick anyone’s ass in Mario Party or get stupidly existential or talk about our weird stoner friends.

6. My friends mom bought us tickets to Dear Evan Hansen. It was amazing and maybe I did cry for two hours straight as soon as Connor showed up but it was a much needed cry. Seeing the show marked the end of an era in my life and I’m aware that sounds dramatic but it’s completely true. I saw myself in Connor enough to change and it broke my heart to see that he never would have gotten the pure satisfaction of improvement. I know he’s a fictional character but I genuinely learned so much about myself after devoting time to understand him.

..other than that...nothing...I’ve found and lost happiness but grown so much as a person. I’m happy to be back and this time spread some more positivity.
