I'M GLAD THAT TRANSLATED WELL ENOUGH! That's pretty much exactly what I was trying to imply with the color parallels :-)

Little addition to Benrey and the hand: he was the one responsible for Gordon's hand being cut off. He's a constant restriction to Gordon; Benrey was supposed to be his "right hand" in game by design, but ultimately ended up being something completely different.

Plus, if we're to get REALLY specific, the orange "i" on the HEV suit and the slight orange glow in Gordon's eyes are a nod to how his real self is really far away, really deep down. And the outer gray shell is just his avatar that lacks any personality of its own.

i was recently gifted clip studio paint, which absolutely rules. in honor of my dicking around attempting to get used to it, here's a quick-ish illustration for a snippet from all possible worlds!

Benrey shuffles forward, encroaching on Gordon's bubble so languidly, Gordon doesn't realize what he's doing until it's too late to back away without losing this weird, dumbass standoff. Benrey isn't even threatening—he's not just skinny, but small, at least a full head shorter such that he has to look straight up to smirk at Gordon—but he's acting like he's still got all the eldritch powers of his own reality on standby. It's deeply annoying, and not a little skin-crawly. "Tryna get a little kiss of life?" Benrey asks. "A little fakeout makeout from your best pal? Fuckin’ knew it.”
