Summer returned his hug, taking note of his usual scent of whiskey and cigarettes before pulling away. It had become an almost recognizable aroma at this point, one she’d might be able to memorize if they’d kept their spending their time together. Part of her wondered if she had a scent of her own, one that seemed to perfectly go along with her personality, but she didn’t bother to ask.
Despite only being in his lair a week prior, visiting the place again seemed almost nostalgic. Memories of the past flooding through her mind whilst she took a seat across him. Larger hands cupped over her own tiny ones as to steady her shot so the bullseye wouldn’t be missed. Oil strains marks from when she helped him take off the training wheels of her bike. Perhaps returning here would always give her flashbacks of times long forgotten..
The chilled glass suddenly making contact with her hands caused her to pull from her thoughts, keeping a firm gasp on the beer to avoid dropping it. In truth, the girl wasn’t too keen on the taste of the darken liquid, but nonetheless took it anyway. Glancing down at the menus, Summer didn’t study them for long before flipping over the middle one and sliding it over to him. ❝This one sounds interesting.❞
The teen caught the pack with ease, obviously experienced at quick responses from too many close calls. Plucking one out for herself, Summer took the time to light her own cigarette before inhaling a starting puff. Admittedly, the redhead was somewhat glad she’d begun the vice when she was sixteen, considering it’d be rather awkward around the chain smoker if she hadn’t.
❝Feeling any better since last Tuesday?❞
====================================================
Last Tuesday? He tried to remember what had happened, fuck, it had been a long week, with everything that had happened with Bill and Rick he’d lost track of time.
“Better yes.” He finally answered before moving off to order the food.
They made quick work of dinner and once they were finished he moved them through to the lab and offered her a seat. Pouring himself a large measure of whiskey he relaxed back into his chair and lit a joint he’d rolled earlier, fresh from Rocker’s most recent harvest.
“Have you heard from your Mother?” Rick was keen to know if Beth had kept in contact given his last visit to his daughter had not gone well. He passed the joint over to Summer. “She was dating some useless piece of shit but I took care of that Motherfucker.” The statement was said with pride, the ends always somehow justifying the means, however cruel.
