I went to the OBGYN to get a consult after having been experiencing sudden, unpredictable, irregular pain in my lower abdomen. She asked if I have been sexually active lately so I awkwardly explained to her that Im Asexual, and her response was "That's actually really useful information, I'm glad you felt comfortable enough sharing that with me in our first visit together. Are you okay if I add that to your file?." I said yes, just out of the sheer appreciation I now have for this woman and how she proved I can be comfortable around and trust her
And gah! I know it's medically necessary but at the same time she recognized it was scary for me to share that with a complete stranger. And not only that, but she actually ASKED permission to put it on my record!! She was the first person I met outside of my family that didn't shun me like I had a deadly contagious disease because of this and for that she forever has my gratitude.π₯Ί
