‼️As a result of the Russian attack in Kyiv, 29 people were injured, one person was killed.
There may be people under the rubble. The search and rescue operation continues.
Residential buildings and civil infrastructure in several districts of the city were damaged.
In Darnytskyi district, a multi-storey residential building was hit, where structures collapsed. 10 people were rescued, emergency rescue operations are underway to search for the injured. At another address, debris was recorded falling onto the territory of a gas station.
In Solomyanskyi district, a parked car caught fire.
In Holosiivskyi district, debris was found on the roadway.
In Svyatoshynskyi district, debris was recorded falling onto an open area.
In Obolonskyi district, debris was recorded falling onto an open area and onto a three-storey parking lot and business center. Also at another address, debris damaged an apartment in a residential building on the 12th floor and hit a 25th-story unfinished building, there are injured people.
In the Dniprovskyi district, as a result of the attack, a fire broke out on the roof of a five-story residential building. One injured person was found. At another, a UAV hit a five-story building. Damage to a private residential building was also recorded. At another address, as a result of the attack, several garages and a parked car caught fire.
No this is actually a fucking insane to thing to say to victims of centuries of colonization, genocide, oppression, and forcible deportation who say "hey maybe consider not glorifying our oppressor through media you create, especially since a lot of things you consider to be cultural of that nation are actually stolen from the peoples they colonized" to then respond with "well I, a progressive westerner, really enjoy media about your oppressor and think you're hysterical at best and racist at worst for trying to take that away from me". Like how is that a normal thing i have to experience every day. Unreal.
Still thinking about how according to Ethan and Benji's plan, it was Benji who was supposed to pull Ethan out of the water and revive him after the drowning, and the reason why Grace ended up doing it was that Benji and the others had to stay behind to fight the russians.
For people who are curious about LGBTQ+ people's situation in Ukraine (updated)
Gay marriage isn't legal, but doing the ceremony non-officially(meaning not marrying yet, but doing a ceremony similar to marrying, as a promise) isn't something people can get in trouble with
Being gay isn't illegal & some of the soldiers have actually come out as gay/bi etc.
We have queer literature & movies available in Ukrainian (and some of them made by Ukrainians)
We have something like Pride Parades
I'm not really that acknowledged,but I think we have
Kyiv Pride/ "March of Equality" <- Марш рівності
The laws aren't perfectly inclusive yet, some transphobia & homophobia exist(which is also the reason why the police had to be there during the March of Equality to protect the people taking a part in it against homophobes & transphobes... there is still a very long way to go...)
But it doesn't mean that Ukraine is homophobic & transphobic
russia is, though
They have laws that make being gay illegal
They have laws that prohibit "propaganda of lgbt" which is basically any mentions/hints of LGBTQ+ stuff, as far as I'm aware
This is not the same
Please don't compare Ukraine to russia(I saw that someone does)
The situation is completely different in Ukraine
I'm honestly tired of how some people are trying to blame Ukraine for something when russia is a terrorist state that attacked an independent country that had been fighting for freedom for so long
I love my country & homeland
I understand it's not perfect
But we deserve freedom
We deserve to live peaceful lives devoid of war
Everyone does
But russians kill Ukrainians, including the ones that are a part of LGBTQ+ community
russians rape woman and girls
They are ruining people's lives and ending them
They are torturing people
They're ruining houses
My own house was partly destroyed by a missile
All while people are arguing about who's right and who's wrong
It's so weird
There shouldn't even be any questions or any blaming the victim, but here we are ig

& there's an organization for Ukrainian LGBTQ+ military and veterans, who are advocating for legalizing same-sex marriage in Ukraine & the the challenges and struggles queer people face in the military force (some of those posts are in English). they do lectures and online meetings, although, only in Ukrainian & they can be founda under @/lgbtiqmilitary on Instagram and Twitter
Update2: Also, I forgot to mention that in Ukraine, medical transitioning is legal as far as I'm aware! I think I even heard a story about an Ukrainian trans woman who unfortunately had to pause her transition because her city got occupied by russians. There are probably many stories like this
