It's time for Fluff Fest! Send in your Prompt Ideas!!

Hey friends! In these dark and scary times, we could all use a little sweetness in our lives.

Some time spent buried in a fluffy THG universe fic would go down better right now than hot chocolate served in a blanket fort, don't ya think? Well, maybe not if Peeta was in the fort. But he'd only want to cuddle with Katniss anyways, so Fluff Fest it is!

Do you have an idea that would prompt a THG/SOTR submission that you'd enjoy more than gobbling up a bag of jellybeans from Mr. Donner's store? Head on over to the new District 12 Fluff Fest blog to suggest them.

Anyone can suggest prompts! A list of all prompts received will be posted on April 11. Authors and artists will be able to choose any prompt that inspires them OR follow their plot bunny into whatever cozy nest seems righ for them.

What about a Fluff Fest?

Fellow #thg lovers, the world is a sad and scary place right now. I think some fluffy, HEA thg/sotr fic would soothe my soul better than a warm cheese bun served on the side of a mug of hot chocolate. It can be AU. It can be in-canon. It can be Everlark, Odesta, SOTR... It matters not. I need it like I need to be snowed in and snuggled in a blanket fort.

So... How do people feel about a Fluff Fest? I'll collect the prompts, set up the blog, post the submissions.... But I need to know there are writers/artists/podcasters who are willing to share their gift.

the hunger games movies did irreparable damage on both my psyche and YA literature bc they are the reason katniss was labeled as a badass who was strong and not soooo emotional like other girls !! (we loveee misogyny!!)

which is like. well, for starters it was objectively wrong. i am thinking specifically of katniss crashing out after shooting at the gamemakers in book one, but i know there are more examples of her being extremely emotional. but also, we got so many bland YA heroines trying to fill the “katniss blueprint” of being tough and closed off or whatever, but completely missing what makes katniss an unforgettable character

ugh and i know the games are serious and the books overall have a serious tone, but there are (necessary!) moments of levity and a lot of those come from peeta!! like??? what have you done to my man he’s supposed to be charming and funny!!

i distinctly remember being like 15 and going to the midnight premiere of THG and liking it overall, but one of the first things i said was “i can’t believe they took out the ‘here to finish me off, sweetheart?’ line”

anywayyy. i do love the movies (esp. for woody harelson’s performance and the depth/nuances elizabeth banks brought to effie) and they are very nostalgic for me, but i do take psychic damage every time someone says the movies are “basically perfect adapatations!!” like ik the bar is low but let’s be serious 😭😭😭

You don’t even have to be a huge fan to clock that they are sorely lacking as adaptations. The first movie especially is just … shocking. How did SC ever have a hand in that script????
