Age: 19

Basic Information: Born in France, in Paris. His Father was absent and his mother couldn’t look after him so he was put into care at age 5. His mother was a drug addict; she got clean when he was 12 and she was granted weekend visitation rights. By the time he was 14 he was staying with her in the week too, however she was still unfit to be given full custody.

At this age, he was also getting into drugs and gangs- sneaking out to meet older friends. He saw his mother every weekend, and for a few nights in the week, till he was 15 before she relapsed and OD’d. Victor found her. He took the rest of the drugs, stashing them to take himself and to give to his friends before phoning the police.

His mother was buried in Montparnasse cemetery, which is where he got his name from.

He continued with the drugs and gangs and he was arrested at age 16 for minor offences. He was in a young offenders prison for a year and a half before he met Thenardier and helped form then rest of the Patron Minette.

Interesting Facts: He has a nose piercing and snake bites. He has several stick and poke tattoos from his former gangs and from prison too. He has two professional tattoos too- one of a bloody rose with his mothers name underneath on his hip and another one that is a bird with a knife too.

Basic information: Born in Marseilles to rich parents; both important in local government and politics in general. He was sent to boarding school from a young age and was there till be was 16.

He moved to Paris, alone, when he was 16, living in a house his parents paid for.

He lived off of his parents money for two years, working also a part time job in the Musain. He applied for university at 19 and got into Magistère de Droit des Activités Économiques where he is in his second year.

Interesting facts: He has his ears pierced in several places, a tongue bar, and a nose ring. He also used to have his eyebrow pierced and snakebites.

Outside of his ex-fiancé’s house dressed in a suit with the brides bouquet in hand along with an engagement ring he’d already used once.

He was swaying a little as he knocked on the door, praying they would wake up and, even if they didn’t listen to him, they’d at least let him in for the night. It was almost three in the morning and the hotel he was supposed to be in was a half hour walk away.

He rested against the porch as he waited, thinking about why he was there. Damn his Grandmother. His Grandmother who he can only recall ever having one other conversation with in his life.

Weddings were never his strong point. He always got nostalgic and drank till he needed to puke, puked, and then drank more, to then wake up in the morning and vow that he wouldn’t do that at a wedding again.

Anyway, back to his original thoughts. His grandmother. If she hadn’t have brought up ‘that lovely boy you were with at the last family gathering’ he would have been fine. He would have mourned the loss of his fiancé as he watched his Cousin have his first dance, would have gotten drunk from self pity as he watched all the other couples too. But no, she just had to talk about it which brought him back to here.

The party was dying down, the bouquet had been thrown and he had caught it, thus why he had it with him, and he’d had the engagement ring in his pocket because… Well he couldn’t remember.

He hiccuped and gagged as he knocked once more, praying he didn’t puke, at least not right now.

“Oh no it’s fine.” Jehan says dismissively. “I’m glad you’re feeling better now. You looked pretty miserable before I went outside.” Jehan cuts one of the daffodils and hands it to Enjorlas. “Here. For before you go. I thought it matched your hair. Also so you don’t forget to call me tonight.” He looks at Enj hopefully.

“It’s been a miserable few months.” He said gently, chewing on his lip with eyes cast down. He looked up as he saw a flash of yellow and smiled as he noticed it was a daffodill. “I think a dandion more matches but…” he took it gently, tucking it behind his ear and feeling it unbalance. “I guess it does match. You call me… It’s your call on if we try again.” He said, going serious suddenly but he still had the fond smile on his face.

“I call you? Even better.” Jehan said feeling relieved. “I’m sorry about the past month. What happened?” He gets up and sits by Enjorlas on the wall. He dusts off his his hands on his overalls. “I think either follower looks good on you but unfortunately I try and keep dandelions out of my garden.” He still has that sweet smile on his face.

“Just.. everything Jehan.” He mumbled. “Us and everything than went with it.” He said, shakimg his head and pushing the flower back behind his ear, “Yes, dandilions are weeds. Even I know that.” He laughed, “best keep them out. I do enjoy a white rose though, one if my favourite flowers. Or a blue orchid.”

“But they can still be so pretty. Maybe I’ll try and grow some roses for you or buy an orchid for you.” Jehan frowns and looks down at the ground. “Yeah hard would be an understatement for the time since we broke up. Hopefully this next month will be easier on us.”

“Hopfully… we shall see.” He mumbled, sighing heavilly and taking Jehan’s hand in his, squeezing gently. “I missed you… a lot. A lot, a lot.” He whispered, pulling his hand up and kissing it gently, despite the mud.

Jehan smiled And blushed. “I missed you so much too. I missed you every time I was alone. I missed you every night.” The nights were actually the hardest. “You could be such a romantic when you wanted to. I’ll definitely plant some roses for you. “I hated putting so much of our stuff in storage but it was painful to keep it in sight.”

“I know romance.” He smiled, “Althoigh you bring out the real romance in me.” He said, nodding sadly. “You left a lot of stuff with me… J didn’t know what was important or anything and I couldn’t throw it out. It was horrible.”

“I’m sorry….” Jehan said pulling at the loose strings on his overalls. “I think the worst part was when I found some of your old clothes in my laundry. I put them away in a bin in my closet but it was so hard. Your old writing was a lot to find too.”

“Did you end up with a lot of my writing? Cause I had a lot of yours… all the stuff from the start if the relationship and everything- i’s kept it all and I found the box when I moved out.” He laughed gently, “that was tough… there was some… sweet stuff in there; I didn’t deserve half of it but..”

Jehan rubed the back of his neck. “I boxed it all up almost immediately. Every time I’d read it I’d hear it in your voice and I wasn’t going to do that to myself. The box is still in my closet.” He shrugged. “You were worth it to me especially at the time. You really inspired me, Enjorlas. It was hard to not write about you.”

He smiled, still holding his hand gently. “There was some interesting stuff in there.” He laughed, sighing heavilly and closing his eyes, tilting his head up to the sky and just enjoying the sunshine on his face. “Your garden is really open…”

“Yeah interesting is a good word for it….” Jehan blushes thinking about his old writing about Enjorlas. He perked up when Enjorlas mentioned his garden. “Oh yeah! I worked really hard on it. It was just grass and dirt when I first moved in but the plants really took off. I really love gardening.”

He smiled, “I remember. You used to keep a lot of plans in the old place.” He said gently, “I think I killed a few. Honestly, you think being able to keep myself alive would mean keeping plants alive but apparently not.”

“Oh I know you killed them.” Jehan admitted. “Plants take a lot more care then you’d think. They all need a certain amount of light and water and space and each species needs a different amount of each. Also I think itd be pretty hard to kill you. I don’t remember you being the most high maintenance person. Sometimes youd be working so much I’d have to remind you to eat.”

“I am low maintinence. A little like a cactus. Need little food and water and easy to maintain.” He smiled, “and a little prickly too.” He laughed, swinging his legs against the wall. “You’re like… some kind of high maintinence flower. That requires a lot of attention and love.”

“Oh am I too high maintenance? Maybe I’m like an orchid or even a rose?” Jehan said batting his lashes. “You did always say I was pretty. Not to be vain though.” He laughed. “And I suppose prickly is one way to put it but you can also be so soft. Truly, Enjorlas. You really savor the love you get too. Soak it all up when you get it.”

“A rose I think.” He smiled, “beautiful but underneath sharp..” he teased, bumping his shoulder gently. “Cause I don’t get love a lot. I have to soak it all up when i get it, y’know, like a cactus.”

“Oh I can be a bit sharp sometimes.” Jehan said bumping him back. He then turns more serious but still soft. “I hope you’ll let me love you then. I want to love you. That’s all I’ve ever wanted. I’ll water you as often as you need.”

“If you let me love you again too?” He asked gently, “If you will? And I’ll let you love me again.” He sighed gently, chewing on his lip. “I could do with a little watering, I think I’m running out of my reserves.”

“I’ll always love you.” Jehan glanced down at Enjorlas’ lips. “And I have a lot of my own reserves to give you.” He quickly pecks Enj on the lips.

As Jehan pulled back he leant forward and returned the kiss, smiling as he thrned his head back to face the front. “Then water me intermittantly until rainy season starts again… rainy season being if we move back in together amongst other things..” he trailed off, analogies were never his thing, let alone plant analogies

Jehan snorted and laughed. “Not your best speech but I get the message.” He kisses Enj on the cheek. “I’ll make sure to give you plenty of love when you need it.” He felt so hopeful hearing Enj say they might move in together again.

He smiled, hitting his feet again Jehan’s. “Look… I’m going to get going soon.” He said gently, “I need some more sleep after yesterday and you’re busy and I have cleaning and that nonsense to do.” Enjolras shrugged, still looking forwards.

“Yeah I get it.” Jehan pushed himself off the wall and onto his feet. “I’ll call you later tonight. Go get some rest and some food. We’ll see each other soon.” He holds out his hand to help Enjorlas down.

Enjolras took his hand, jumping down and giving it a quick squeeze before he let go. “We will. We’ll organise a date and we’ll go out. Dinne or coffee or drinks. Whatever. But we’ll go on a date. Just give me a day and a time and we’ll sort something between us, i’m sure.”

Jehan ducked his head, cheeks heating. “I apologise. It wasn’t my intention to make you feel left out.” He apologised, “People just jwpt approaching. This is the first time i’ve sat down this evevning.” He said, “I’m sorry.”

Enjolras shrugged “it doesn’t matter... I just assumes we’d actually be spending time together when you asked me to come to this thing.”

“I said I’m sorry.” He stood, holding out his hand, “I lost track of you and I asked you here because you’re also sad, a lot, and never do anything exciting. My last dance was always going to be for you, I just wanted you to maybe find someone, make new friends.”

Enjolras gave him a small smile but shook his head “don’t worry about it. But I think we’ve learned this is just more of your thing than mine “

“But not you’ve made me feel bad.” He said gently, taking his hand back. “You don’t want to dance anymore? Want to just sit and drink instead?”

“I’m not trying to make you feel bad. I’m just not feeling particularly good about myself at having the only people interested in me being your rejects so I’m not in a dancing mood now” he shrugged slightly “Go enjoy the rest of your night”

“Just so you know I didn’t send anyonw over to you because you looked sad. I apologise people finished with me and came too you but you’re handsome too!” He sighed, sitting back down and pouting. “Now I just feel bad E... i asked you here as my date, plus one, whatever you wish to call it and I’ve been neglectful because I’m ever so slightl vain and enjoy the love.”

“I would have been forced to come to this thing either way. So don’t worry about it, honestly it was as much fun as I expected anyway so it’s not even a disappointment”

“Sit... please?” He said, moving over so there was now a chair free. “These things aren’t all that fun. Honestly, i’m exhausted from being super polite to everyone so you’re not allowed to leave me now. I meed my friend so I can relax and not be all ‘host prim and proper’.”

“You don’t have to pretend you weren’t having fun” He huffed, sitting down beside him “and I don’t need to be entertained so if anything you can stop trying to be the perfect host now.”
