âthank merlin because i am starving and in desperate need of new clothes and lingerie.â it wasnât true, at least, the latter wasnât true but it didnât mean that she wouldnât spend more than most would. willow didnât ever have to worry about money and she liked to stay up to date with fashion and only ever liked the most expensive of clothes and underwear. âi would just like to have new things, hence the desperation.â
âiâm in no need of anything, but iâve got money to spare and a need for a few new dresses,â said athena, laughing softly. her closet at home was flowing over with clothes already, but sheâd gladly fill it with some new things. âi fully get you; iâm bored of some of my clothes and have seen some things in shop windows that just call me, you know?â she was endlessly thankful for willow in that moment, who was on the same line as her when it came to these things. âwhatâd you like to get for lunch? my treat.â

âYou donât see a dear friend for weeks but itâs the puppy that gets all their attention, typicalâŠâ She tutted, something that greatly contrasted with the amused grin in her face. Really she was glad that someone else saw how impossible it would have been to ditch said puppy. âWho apparently adores his Auntie Athena.â Mona teased before handing the other a box, swooping down to pick up the dogs lead, not that she thought it would be running off so soon. âWe can take them on playdates, they can grow up to be the best of friends. They could have matching coats!â
âOh, come on, Mona!. If I had to choose between you and the puppy, Iâd reluctantly choose you,â she promised, a grin curling her lips. âAlso, your ego had better grow a bit stronger if you want to survive this cruel world.â Then, Athena smiled broadly. âJaime adores me, thank Merlin! Iâd go mad if he didnât, Iâm sure.â She took the box, letting out a huff of air as the weight fully entered her arms. âThatâd be amazing; I need it to happen right now. Really, Iâll go down to the magical menagerie first chance I get and buy myself a fluffy little dog, as well as a dozen outfits. Iâll just have to think of a proper good name.â
ayannagoldstein:
â you lost me at atomic bomb. â the blonde offered a sheepish grin. â you have your way with words, you know that? i was so close to giving you a full bloody compliment, thena. well, whatever, are you letting me have a sip or not? â
âthank merlin i do. after all, it is my job to use my words to tell the world whatâs going on,â said athena, chuckling softly. âand of course! donât get your hopes up, though; it just tastes like normal coffee, and the leaky doesnât have the best coffee, if you ask me.â
evanrvsier:
â youâve been looking at my ass now? â he joked, holding back a laugh. evan always liked to rile people up regardless of whether they were a family friend or not. â color me impressed. never thought you had it in you, parkinson. very clever. an important question, whose hair is in that concoction? â
âyou wish,â said athena, more than amused at the idea of her looking at evanâs ass. not many knew that she preferred girls, and she liked to keep it that way. âoh, fuck off. youâd better be a bit more kind --â the word was met with a snort. â-- if you want me to lend you some. and iâve only got bottles with the hair of some muggle girls. hope thatâs not a problem?â
dcaisy:
Daisy let out a laugh- they didnât exactly agreed with coffee, but after all they did take potions to stay up longer than usual- so it was maybe a better alternative than what she uses. â and do you ever go to sleep? because i never go to sleep after  three p-coffees.â
âHavenât you heard? Sleep is for the weak. Besides, Iâd rather lose sleep than lose my job,â said Athena. Sheâd gotten used to sleeping little back at Hogwarts and could easily thrive off five hours a night these days, as long as she had one proper night of sleep a week.
malfcyisms:
âgo figure.â he gave her a look as he was handed the jacket back, placing it on his lap as he watched her. ânothingâs wrong.â he always had a face on him like a slapped arse, he didnât think anyone would even notice. chewing on the inside of his cheek, lucius shrugged. âiâm just tired. thatâs all.â
athena understood his frustration, sure --- she cared about her own garments too --- but that didnât mean she didnât watch with a hint of amusement as he placed the jacket on his lap. at his answer, she looked a bit skeptical. she didnât push it, though. âyou should ask someone to brew you some sleeping draughts; theyâre great if you need to catch up on some sleep.â then, she shrugged. âor you could drink an espresso squared.â
ofgoldensnakes:
âIf there was a way to shop from home, I would do it.â Narcissa replied before laughing, resting her chin on her propped up hand.  The blonde couldnât help the twitch of her lips, clearly amused with the others mock disapproval. âHopefully never, life is much more fun without self control you know.â Cissa was reaching for her first bag ( filled with silks and velvetâs ) when she let out a very unladylike snort, âDo you really think it counts?â She smiled, âIâm glad youâre enjoying it at least. I donât know how you manage to sit there all day working with numbers and not lose your mind.â
âHmmm, I donât know; I kind of like going out to do it, you know? Make a day of it. If there was a way for Diagon Alley to clean its streets from ... certain people, thatâd be a better solution,â mused Athena, thinking of that ideal world for a moment. She hoped itâd be there sooner than later. âThat is absolutely true. You speak wisely, Narcissa. And of course; itâd have been terrible of you to let someone walk around with a dress that didnât look good on them.â A shrug, then. âI am honestly surprised Iâm enjoying myself as much as I am; I never envisioned this career for myself, after all. Howâs your life treating you, though?â
ofvictoria:
the brunette let out an amused laugh. âclever name,â she admitted to the other, taking a seat in front of her ( one of the last available chairs in the whole bar ). âhave a long day ahead?â she asked curiously, for she supposed such an amount of caffeine could only mean she needed to stay awake.
âoh, definitely,â she said, letting out a deep, deep sigh. she offered victoria a smile as a greeting, though --- it was good to see a familiar face that didnât make her angry in a public place like this. âdeadlines will be the death of me, iâm sure. iâve got this article to wrap up, two interviews to do this afternoon and i have to put those in another article. coffeeâs the only reason iâve not been fired yet, i swear it.â
malfcyisms:
âgreat.â he flashed an unamused smile. clearly he wasnât happy about something and her impromptu fact was one of them. âyour chairâs on my jacket.â lucius said as calmly as he could, eyes closing as if it was giving him peace of mind. âyouâre creasing it enough already⊠i donât think you realise how expensive that suit jacket is.. câmon parkinson.â
âjeez, malfoy, cheer up a little,â said athena, rolling her eyes at his tone. she did, however, get up to hand him the jacket, observing it for a moment. âhmm, nice fabric. my guess is that itâs rather expensive.â sitting down again, she returned to twirling her quill, but her eyes did not return to her work. âwhatâs got you all .. grumpy, then? something wrong?â
silverxspoon:
â it sounds like my kind of drinkâ balti smirked over at the young woman, he was a quite lover of coffee, and anything that kept his mind buzzing. â is that all you have planned for your morning? drinking âatomic bombsâ?â he asked, rolling back his large shoulders as he ignored those that recognised him.Â
âyou should order it, then. really, i wasnât joking when i said they work miracles,â said athena. she had recognised him -- of course she had -- but was hardly bothered with nerves. âiâve got a deadline in a few hours, too, and a few work things scattered through the afternoon, so iâll most likely end up drinking a few more. and you? any thrilling plans for this tuesday morning?â
ofskeeterisms:
there was little point trying to fool athena. the two, after all, worked together. taking into account this much smaller public, perhaps rumour wouldâve already reached her, and ritaâs true intentions would no longer remain hidden. either way, rita actually enjoyed not having to keep up âtheâ act. â oh, athena â â she began, popping one of the sweets into her mouth and swallowing â â i would say it comes down to two ways: you either ask nicely or donât ask at all ; simply take it. â there was some sort of bitterness mixed with mischief garnishing the writerâs words. this was, mostly seeing as it ressembled ritaâs motto in regards to getting her content: if itâs out there, itâs yours to take. first ask nicely, and if you were still stuck after that, youâd have to get your hands dirty. not that she mattered at this point. â you could get them too. youâve got a smile lights up rooms and a warm voice. iâm surprised your office isnât stacked with fan mail by now. â
athena began eating the sweet with a slight smile on her lips. she enjoyed the others company -- truly -- and that was a rare thing, as annoyance with others came too easy to her. there was also respect there, as rita was a few years older than her and knew more about being a good journalist ( not that athena wasnât good at it herself; she was cunning and clever and knew how to get truths out of people with either a smile or pressuring look ). âyou flatter me, rita,â said the brunette, swallowing the sugary treat. âiâm afraid, though, that most of my interviewees are often no fan of mine. after all, most economic news these days is negative, which means theyâre usually quite ... frustrated with the world.â she didnât mind that, though; while presents were nice enough, athena only wanted good quotes and information from her interviewees, not sweets or clothes. âpeople in bad moods are hardly ever charitable. especially when their businesses are failing or their bank accounts are empty.â a shrug. âi do get some fanmail here and there, though, which is more than nice.â
ofpuregreengrass:
âNot really what I meant.â The former Slythering retorted before she shifted one of her boxes to the other arm, a grin tugging at her lips anyway. âJust outside the station, he was all alone in a box so I could hardly leave him there.â Desdemona couldnât help but snort, dark eyes rolling at the other. âIâve decided he looks like a Jaime. Honesty, youâd think I were four years old the way you talk about me.â The womanâs face held nothing but amusement for the other. âGet one, we can be sister mums.â
âIâll give you a real hand soon, just give me a moment with this adorable, fluffy thing, okay?,â she said, still holding the small dog with a rare look of endearment on Athenaâs face. âThat makes total sense; Iâd have taken him too.â And this was true; she loved dogs, always had, and if she saw a dog like this all alone, sheâd not have hesitated for a moment. âJaime, that is so cute. Little Jimmy the dog.â She placed the dog on the ground, holding out her free hands to take a box. âI might just do it! Thatâd be amazing. I can already see it, a small little dog all for me.â
evanrvsier:
â stop being so narcissistic, parkinson. the world does not revolve around you â in case you didnât know. â he quirked a brow, sighing heavily before pulling her along with him to hide. â i canât be seen here, nor can you, if you donât want complications and issues to arise. â he stated, eyes on the lookout. â which may involve your family, too. so iâd be careful if i were you. â
athena changed her expression to annoyed and somewhat more serious. âyeah, but it sure does seem to revolve around your domineering ass,â she muttered, letting him pull her aside. âyeah, yeah, i know; i thought hiding in plain sight would perhaps be a better option, but whatever works best.â a roll of her eyes at the mention of family as she rummaged through her bag. ârule one of being a death eater; bring polyjuice wherever you go. want some?â
@athcnah
âdear cousin, how would you feel about going for lunch?â willow questioned, her true smile on her face, the one that was a mixture of dark and sweet, like a never ending battle of who she was supposed to appear as. âi thought itâd be nice for us to do something, maybe even go for a walk through london and do some shopping?â the older parkinson preferred muggle clothes to witches robes, finding the leather and tightness of them more fitting for who she was.
âthat sounds more than wonderful,â said athena, meeting her cousins smile with one of her own. she needed a bit of a break; while she enjoyed writing about numbers and coins and inflation more than most would, her brain had grown fuzzy with work. spending money on a good lunch and clothes sounded perfect. âiâm in need of some new blouses and shoes, and iâm sure i could use many more garments to fill my closet with.â
ofgoldensnakes:
âWhy, they disappeared with my patience of course.â Narcissaâs tone was teasing as she glanced up at the familiar face, the beginnings of a grin tugging at her lips. âOh plenty. Nothing I needed, of course, but still a few gems nonetheless. There was a girl who attempted to take the last size of a dress that would have painfully drowned her out, but I managed to set her straight.â She sipped her drink, âAnd you? Howâs the life of a working woman?â
âUnderstandable. While Diagon Alley may be a bit more empty, it still knows to test my patience in many ways,â said Athena, ordering a cappuccino after. A laugh spilled over her lips and she shook her head as if disapproving. âWill you ever learn to control yourself, Narcissa?,â she questioned. âShow me, though! And youâve done your good deed of the day it seems, congratulations.â Athena let out a soft laugh. âIâve been keeping busy, I can hardly catch a break. I like it, though.â
