Hello Everyone!!
A special anniversary update for Yennefer, The Ultimate Button Pusher, De Vries! Is now up and ready for your viewing pleasure
Apologies if it seems vastly different to the first bunch of fics I wrote those essentially one after the other in the height of my Yennaia hyperfixation.
this one as follows has come about when I am dipping my toe back in the Yennaia pond.
I hope you enjoy and its not so different that people hate it.
Thank you to everyone who has commented, kudos'd and supported me in the past and more recently its so very appreciated and i am very grateful for it all.
And girl you did. After the battle of Sodden when no one knew where she was... While Vilgefortz stabbed dead corpses and Geralt mourned her do you reminded who searched for her without a break? Who waited a whole month to add her name to the list of the dead?
Tissaia did.
Tissaia was so desperate in the days after the battle. She herself was still weakened by the Dimeritium poisoning but she still searched the battlefield for any sign of Yennefer. She penetrated the minds of all the dead in the hope of finding out where she was last seen. She obviously cried for her.
She really tried everything to find out what happened with her. From searching in other people's minds to torturing Cahir. Her first priority in the days that followed was Yennefer. Find her and make sure she is alright.
Her whole life Yennefer wanted someone who cares for her. Who appreciate her for what she is and she never really saw how much Tissaia cared for her and how much she wanted her back.
And I really hate it that they never mentioned the things that happened after or during the battle ever again.
Ooo what about a little sick!fic where Tissaia’s got the flu or something and Yen’s absolutely thrilled to play nurse (which Tissaia insists she hates but deep down she actually loves)??
oo this is a good one thank you!!
Tissaia's head was pounding, not her regular post council meeting migraine. Worse, because she couldn't determine the cause.
Yennefer knew Tissaia was coming down with something, more than likely the flu as it seems to have wiped out the entirety of Aretuza's novices within the last couple of weeks.
Tissaia however is as stubborn as stubborn comes, having avoided being ill or caught out for over 250 years she was not about to slow down now, or so she thought. Her plan to continue working through the blurred vision, shining skin, feverish hague and completely ignore the hacking, phlegmy coughs backfired moments after she started her first round of correspondence. By none other than her resident menace (wife) Yennefer.
"Nope. Put it down and get back to bed." Was the order that came firmly from the door to her bedroom, Yennefer had only stepped out to use the bathroom.
"I'm fine, I don't need to rest. I just need to finish these letters." Tissaia's protests were cut short by hacking coughs, her throat sounded scratchy at best and as bad as when she had inhaled dimeritium and then a fields worth of smoke.
"Alright. Nope, we're not doing this. Get back in bed." Yennefer came over and took Tissaia into her arms, one hand soothing uo and down in circles across Tissaia's pyjama clad back.
"I really am fine." Tissaia let herself be led back to bed. If anyone asks she put up a fight but in reality she sunk into Yennefer's soft and warm grip and let her tug the duvet up to her chin.
"Well then you can be fine from bed." Yennefer teased her tone that of fond exasperation.
Tissaia grumbled but was clearly to ill to resist as her eyes shut the moment her head rest upon her pillow. Her lips jutting out into a slight pout, her cheeks flushed with fever and her brow wet with sweat.
Yennefer got to work with laying cool flannels across Tissaia's forehead and the back of her neck, trying to cool the older mage down before having to resort to chaos.
Tissaia would reprimand her the minute she awoke if Yennefer didnt even half arse the manual ways of healing.
Yennefer kept watch over the next few hours, replacing flannels, stoking the fire, keeping Tissaia's temperature down, and just watching her wife sleep.
Even amidst a deadly virus (the flu) Tissaia manged to look composed and regal, Yennefer loved watching Tissaia sleep, the permanent frown lines between her brows was smoothened, her lips parted just so a slight whistle could be heard when she was deep in her R.E.M cycle. Yennefer would tease her for it when she awoke which was less appreciated by Tissaia but the crinkle in her nose as she awoke and the light whimper was one of the many aspects of Tissaia Yennefer fell in love with.
"Stop staring at me." Tissaia grumbled sleepily her eyes still squeezed shut.
"I wasn't staring-" Yennefer began only to be cut off by the one sapphire eye piercing her very soul.
"Was too!" Tissaia whined, a sound only Yennefer would be privy to and only when Tissaia was dragged from sleep.
"Was not. I was checking your vitals." Yennefer goaded back, her own tone that of a child.
"I'm fine! I need to get back to work." Tissaia began to rise from the duvet cocoon Yennefer had wrapped her in but her arms gave out beneath her, her body dropping back down onto the mattress with a huff.
"You were saying? It's not up for negotiation when you can sit up on your own you can go back to correspondence until then, I'll do anything you want. I'll even behave." Yennefer teases, they both know Yennefer never does what's she's told unless Tissaia threatens her appropriately or she is offered a heap of sexual favours.
In the privacy of their chambers, they were playful, childish and competitive to a fault. Tissaia moreso than Yennefer in a rare show of youthful pettiness often resorted to dirty tactics to get her wife to wise up.
"Fine, but I'm not happy about it. I reserve the right to complain every hour." Tissaia huffed pouting with her arms crossed in a strop.
"Alright grumpy, I'll set my clock by it." Yennefer laughed heartily at the pillow flung at her head half heartedly, Tissaia clearly not well enough to give the throw any actual oomph.
Tissaia's lips twitched with amusement when Yennefer flopped to the floor as if gravely injured.
"Get up! stop being so melodramatic!" Tissaia called when Yennefer didn't rise moments later.
"Yen?" Tissaia called unable to see over the edge of the bed.
"Rah" Yennefer popped up beside Tissaia from on the floor causing the older mage to scream holding her chest.
"What's wrong with you, are you trying to send me to an early grave!" Tissaia shouted as best she could pretending to be unamused when Yennefer doubled over laughing.
"Early? Darling Rectoress you are over 450 years old!" Yennefer retorted from a safe distance, clearly not safe enough however as Tissaia's well aimed stinging hex caught her in the arse as she turned to leave.
"I'll show you old you deluded imp." Tissaia grumbled through a yawn, which betrayed the image of okay health Tissaia proclaimed to have.
"Go to sleep darling, Nurse Yennefer shall be here when you wake" Yennefer winked to her drowsy lover.
"In the slutty outfit an' all?" Tissaia slurred out in jest.
"You can count on it." Yennefer blew a kiss before shutting the last of the lights off.
