ATHENA MARIE LAURENT was born in Athens, Greece on a stormy November night. Athena grew up in a household with no father figure, only a mother who worked full time to provide for her and her younger sister Eris. (They were into greek Mythology, can you tell?) At age 15 Eris woke Athena from her slumber, the exact date? September 9th, 1998. Hera was hysterical as she had found their mother on the bathroom floor, lifeless in a pool of blood. Athena longed to find the man or woman who murdered her mother in cold blood which is what inspired her to become a criminal. 

Athena and Eris were placed into a foster home a few months later to a not so perfect family. Athena found herself making sure Eris was safe from all harm including their foster father, a horrible drunk with a desire to harm them. After years of enduring her fathers ways is when she turned to alcohol as a coping mechanism. Though a drunk, Athena continued to look after Hera. At the age of 18 Athena had turned her life around and found her and Eris a home away from their abusers. This is also the year she found her mother's murderer. In court the gut wrenching words “not guilty” left the judges mouth leaving Eris and Athena hopeless. Though she wanted to fall back into her old ways, Athena knew she had to be strong for her sister though she hadn’t been in the past. Athena searched for the man many days after that. Once she hunted him down she brought justice to her mother in her own way, becoming a lawyer and helping families be brought justice.

She had been preparing for a case all day long, making sure her points were strong enough. Athena felt herself beginning to doze off but couldn’t stop it. So now, here she was in the middle of a coffee shop fast asleep. That was until she felt a small tap on her shoulder. “Holy shit.” Her eyes are wide, mouth agape. “Did I really fall asleep in here? Thank you for waking me up I’m so sorry.” A loud sigh leaves her lips as she stares up at the person. “You’re a life saver, seriously.”

“And I thought I made it perfectly clear that your status with my family won’t save you from my rage, “ Cristiano replied, still not bothering to look up from his phone. “Aren’t I a little young for you mama? Surely there is some desperate man in this bar who’d love to try vying for your attention.” he mused moving to grab his drink, sipping it staring at her while she talked “aww you poor thing, wishing the Goode boy didn’t off himself so you could represent him for the murder of his parents?” 

“So we’re doing this back and forth now?” She asked with a roll of her eyes. Athena knocks back yet another shot, grimacing at the taste. “Woah, hold up. Who said I was coming onto you? I just said I wanted company. Friendly company.” Athena is quick to correct the younger man. “Oh please. You think I don’t have enough cases as is? If anything it’s a blessing.”

Sometimes, on days like this, Avery really regretted their decision to accept the scholarship to Sunnyvale. On days when their track coach made them run what seemed like 500 miles in the middle of the day when the weather was the warmest. They had finished the course the coach had given them and was currently laying down in the middle of the sidewalk. They didn’t even care that they had run through town and was now currently in the middle of it. When the sun was blocked by a shadow, Avery let out a low groan. “Just leave me here to die..” They said tiredly, though there was a teasing tone in their voice.

Athena decided to walk to the local coffee shop today. The weather was nice if you asked her. A perfect sunny day is just what she needed after a depressing day in court yesterday. She was minding her business when she saw someone in the middle of the sidewalk. Worried, she jogged over and extended out her hand. “Holy shit. Are you okay? Do I need to call for help?” Like the mother figure Athena was she pulled a bottle of water from her bag and handed it to the other. “Here.”

“I thought I made it perfectly clear that I don’t like to be disturbed while I’m here,” Cris replied knocking back his drink as he stared at his phone. The chaos of the bar seemed like the perfect place to hide away for a moment. He’d had a rather long night and taking care of business, it didn’t help Val and him seemed to have yet another little fight.“What is it you want? And you’d better have a brilliant reason for interrupting my evening.” @fearstreetstarters​

“And I thought I made it perfectly clear I don’t give a shit about your demands, Cristiano.” She bit back as she downed a shot before taking a seat next to him. “Maybe I just want some company. Is that such a crime?” There’s a sinister smile now on her face. “But you know all about that don’t you? My evening is boring and I want to spice it up.” It was true. Working on multiple cases for multiple hours was enough to drive even the most sane person insane.
