I don't really post my writing on tumblr (or anywhere for that matter, just google docs to bother my besties with), but I find my isekai!Tav's refusal to accept the isekai-ness of her situation very, very funny and felt like sharing.

As she examined the pod for a latch to free her human (lol) shield, she began feeling a strange sense of déjà vu. From the outside it looked familiar, weird thorny growths, so many shades of purple. Ah, it clicked in her head, the incel serial killer who kidnapped them was probably just a loser fanboy of the game. Now it all made sense! The freaky squid thing was even an enemy in the game! Also explains her soon-to-be buddy, the freak probably wanted people who look like the game characters, and also probably nabbed them all from some Baldur’s Gate fan event. It was all coming together.

also, fun fact; the human (lol) shield is Raphael, LOL. also, also, maybe not very relevant context, but Kiara (aka Tav) isn't really a gamer (except LADS), her bestie, and former roommate, is the gamer, and like any good bff, she sat through 700 hours of BFF romancing that vampire again.

the thing about me is that I will ship default!durge with every isekai!tav I come up with (this is my THIRD, by the way, not counting the raphtav one where they are not the main ship, but my little cousin ships that tav with durge more than raph so I gotta throw in some vibes for the kiddo), anyway...

I tried to make my latest Tav's dream guardian look like Hotch from Criminal Minds (for a bit, trust it's very funny), and I'm kinda proud of myself. Used the Raphael face (also for a funny bit) and aged up around half way up the slider, the hair really brought it together (for me anyway). I think it's pretty close!

(the eyes are wrong on purpose btw, my personal headcanon is that the dream guardian's eyes are glowy bluey-purple shade, like ilithid skin tone 'cause they can't hide that, 'cause I think that's cool)
