Too Faced Twinkle Twinkle Liquid Eyeshadow review 👄💅
*
Why I got it: ❔
*
This liquid eyeshadow was on sale for a long time on Sephora’s Italian website. I saw swatches of it online and decided to purchase a shade to give it a try, since I didn’t have many other products like it.
*
The product: 🛍
*
This liquid eyeshadow comes at 22.90€ at Sephora Italy. I got the shade “Honey, please!” which is a neutral champagne shade. The eyeshadow has the perfect amount of glitter and colour, so that you can wear it by itself without it looking watery, but you can also use it on top of a similar shade to make it pop.
*
How I use it: 🧖🏼♀️
*
This is part of my everyday ensemble when I’m doing just a little more than concealer and mascara. I quickly put it all over my lid for a simple but complete look which makes my eyes pop, and also makes me look more awake. This simple wash of glitter has a certain sweet look to it.
*
Advice: 👀
*
This is not my favourite everyday eyeshadow to bring with me when I travel, because it takes up precious space in my liquids bag. Instead, I bring my Becca highlighter travel mini (you can read my review on it too!) which is a compact powder so I can bring it with no worries. However at home, this liquid eyeshadow is a wonderful addition to a simple makeup routine, or the extra glam for an already glamorous look.
*
Overall: 💫
*
Although 22.90€ is a lot of money to pay for a single eyeshadow, this isn’t just any eyeshadow. Even with just one of the available shades, you can bring your eye looks to the next level, or simplify your everyday routine. Imagine: one simple swipe on each eye, and you don’t even need a brush! It’s perfect for makeup lovers of every ability, and it’s price reflects the quality of the product inside.
*
Until next time!

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet - Shade 47 “L’Amoureuse” review 💅👄
*
Why I got it: ❔
*
I received this lipstick as a gift, but it was such a long time ago that I cannot even remember what the occasion was. Regardless, it’s one of my most used gifts!
*
The product: 🛍
*
The lipstick comes in a gorgeous, luxurious packaging. To get the bullet, you click on the gold end which has a spring mechanism and pull out the inside. The beautiful gold interior has 3.5 grams of product and comes in many classic shades. The formula is very creamy, almost balmy, with a beautiful shine, but after a while it dries down to a seamless finish that you can’t even feel, it’s like having nothing on your lips. The price listed on Chanel’s website is 35€.
*
How I use it: 🧖🏼♀️
*
47 is the perfect pinky berry lip shade for me, and when I wear it, I definitely feel like I’m wearing Chanel. In fact, all of the shades of this range seem carefully crafted for an elegant and timeless look, perfect for a night out. More recently, I’ve been sporting this shade with no other makeup on (but a big pair of sunglasses) when I go out for a sunny walk. It makes me feel more put together and it makes my skintone look more fresh and “alive”.
*
Advice: 👀
*
Although this lipstick dries down on your lips, it doesn’t mean it’s going to stay on. I would recommend bringing it with you where you go so that you can apply again it after you eat or drink.
*
Overall: 💫
*
Whether you love wearing lipsticks or not, I’d recommend that you own at least one “designer” lip product to wear on a night out, a date, an interview or an event. All of the shades are beautifully created and you’re sure to find the one to make you look poised and timeless. Personally, I think this product is worth its money, and it will last you a long time too. The texture is simply wonderful on the lips, and the lipstick will make you look and feel fantastic.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream Review 💅🏼👄
*
Why I got it: ❔
*
This recent cult favourite caught my eye - you don’t often see people raving about body creams. I tend to get very dry skin in various parts of my body, and I’m guilty of not doing much to help the situation, because I tend to use whatever lousy cream I have lying around. However, having received a discount code for Sephora, I stocked up on items I wanted to try, among which this dreamy tropical cream.
*
The product: 🛍
*
The Bum Bum cream comes in a few different formats, and like in many cases, buying a larger tub will earn you a lower price per gram. 240ml comes at 17.04€/100ml 150ml comes at 19.93€/100ml, 75 ml comes at 24€/100ml. You know I love travel minis, but I bought the 150ml tub because it’s so considerably relatively cheaper. If you think - even a little bit - that you might like this cream, you should purchase one of the bigger sizes. I’ve already used half of mine within a couple of months, so it won’t be a bad investment.
*
How I use it: 🧖🏼♀️
*
I layer this cream every time I shower on all the “problem areas” of my body: where my skin feels tight, looks dry, where I have scars or stretch marks that I’m trying to fade. The cream dries quickly so you could put it on at any time of day and get dressed immediately afterwards with no problem. Sol De Janeiro claims that this cream will tighten and smoothen your skin. I’d say you have to use this cream for at least a month to see visible results, but I can assure you that my skin looks much brighter and healthier in the areas where I use this cream regularly.
*
Advice: 👀
*
There are two drawbacks that I would note to this cream, neither of which bothers me personally, but they might bother you. First of all, this cream comes in a tub, which means you repeatedly dig your “dirty” fingers in the same cream which you then apply on your body days or weeks later - tubs are not a “clean” container for your cream. However the dense whipped texture of the Bum Bum cream means that you couldn’t possibly put it in a pump - maybe you could put it in a squeeze tube, but you’d likely end up with a lot of product you can’t get out at the end, and the package would be more wasteful, whereas you could potentially reuse the tub for other purposes. For example, if you have a travel size and a bigger size, you could decant a smaller amount in your travel size tub once you’ve finished it for easier transportation. The second drawback is that this cream has a very strong “tropical” scent. Its main ingredient is guaranà, which smells like a holiday on a palmy beach with a coconut in your hand. You may love this, or you may hate this. If you hate this, then don’t buy this cream. However, although the smell is strong, I’ve used more artificial-smelling creams in the past, so it’s not so bad.
*
Overall: 💫
*
If you’re a lover of feel-good rituals, you will also be a lover of this cream. Lather it on after a warm shower for a cozy and luxurious feeling, and keep doing that everyday for shiny, wonderful skin.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer Review 💅🏼👄
*
Why I got it: ❔
*
There is little to say about this. Shape Tape has been loved by the internet since it launched in 2016, and I finally managed to get my hands on it while on a trip to the USA. I was so excited I bought three different shades for all times of year!
*
The product: 🛍
*
The concealer comes in a generous 10ml tube and with the biggest doe foot applicator I have ever seen. It sells at 26.95 Euros at Sephora Germany (unfortunately it’s not available in Italy, but I was so excited to find out that I can still get it in Europe!) and 27$ in the USA. The formula is vegan, which I love, and it comes in 30 shades, ranging widely from very light to very deep. It has a matte finish, but not so matte that it looks cakey and unnatural, so you can still wear it on a regular day.
*
How I use it: 🧖🏼♀️
*
On a day to day basis, Tarte Shape Tape Concealer is all I need on my skin. In fact, on a normal day, I like to wear some concealer on my under-eye area, something light on the eyes and mascara - that’s it. Because of this, I purchased shades that would match the tone of my face (as opposed to my body or neck, which is often recommended) because I wasn’t planning to wear any foundation, so I needed the concealer to seamlessly blend with the rest of my face, where I wasn’t wearing any product. I use a beauty blender to apply a very small amount of concealer under my eyes, and I use my fingers to tap it on the occasional spot. I don’t set the concealer under my eyes because it has a quite matte finish by itself, and I never found that it comes off during the day, but if I’m spot concealing, I always make sure to set the area well.
*
Advice: 👀
*
This concealer is very versatile: you can use it on top of foundation, or by itself, or even try to use it AS foundation! That’s right, a little goes a really long way (in fact I usually use a super-tiny amount under my eyes and that’s enough), so you can try to spread this product around your face as a foundation. I’ve tried doing this before, and the finish is very pretty and it doesn’t look like you just used your concealer all over. This is a wonderful hack for you if you don’t normally wear foundation but you need to wear it on the occasional fancy evening - if you own this concealer, you already have a 2 in 1! Bear in mind, you might want to purchase more than one shade like I did, so that you have a winter and a summer one, and you can mix them around and wear a lighter shade under your eyes if you want to use the concealer as foundation.
*
Overall: 💫
*
If you need a ride or die concealer, this is it. There’s certainly a reason it’s so famous and well loved. A single tube will last you a long time (I’m not nearly halfway through my first one and it’s been over 6 months) and it will accompany you through any kind of event or necessity, from galas, to work, to school, to travels.
*
Until next time!

Winky Lux Rainbow Confetti Balm Review 💅🏼👄
*
Why I got it: ❔
*
I picked up one of these pretty lip balms after gifting one to a friend. I’d never tried it myself before, but I found the idea of pH-reacting lip products quite intriguing EVER since the “Frog Prince” lipstick hit the markets sometime around 2015 - you might remember it because it’s green in the bullet but shows up as a natural pink. After seeing the pretty pink Winky Lux balm on my friend, I was too curious to resist and bought a tube of my own the next time I went to Sephora.
*
The product: 🛍
*
You can buy this balm at Sephora for 15.90 Euros, which is a considerable amount for a lip balm but it’s much less than the “Frog Prince” lipstick (around 25 Euros) - and perhaps more importantly, much easier to find in Italy - if you’re interested in the colour changing technology. Despite it looks tiny from the packaging, it comes at 3.6g, which is quite standard.
*
What it looks like: 👀
*
This balm comes in a silvery tube that is small enough to be kept with you at all times. The product is incredibly pretty, it looks like it was made by a unicorn. The clear bullet is filled with sparkly particles and pieces of foil that reflect the light beautifully in all sorts of rainbow colours. The consistency is that of a balm, and once applied it quickly turns a different shade on each user. Having it recommended to more people since I bought it, I’ve seen it used many times, and it always showed up as a colour that looked very pretty and natural on the person, a “your lips but better” product.
*
How I use it: 🧖🏼♀️
*
I don’t wear lipsticks on a day to day basis because it would look incoherent with my relaxed style and makeup, so this product is very good for low-effort daily use if you want to have something on your lips, but not too much. I bring it with me on my travels when I’m not bringing any other products, because it looks perfect with any eye look I might do, or with just a little concealer and mascara - or even if you’re not wearing any makeup, this balm will make you look a little bit more “alive”. Be aware that you are best off bringing this around with you so that you can re-apply it throughout the day, because it does not stain your lips at all and removes quite easily. If it doesn’t bother you, then it’s no problem for you. In any case, you will have trouble to find a creamy product which easily stays on all day, so this is still a good option.
*
Advice: 🙌🏼
*
Although from the consistency you could say this product is a lip balm, and therefore you might think to use it to hydrate your lips all day round, I would not be so sure. In fact, I occasionally found that my lips were very dehydrated after I used it. Because of this, I’d recommend using this product exactly as you would a lipstick, which in principle means that you should hydrate your lips with another product, such as an actual lip balm or a lip oil, especially before going to bed.
*
Overall: 💫
*
You want natural, easy, pinky lips? This is for you. You don’t need a mirror to apply it, the packaging is small so you can bring it with you, and it even hydrates your lips to a certain degree. This is perfect for anyone who’s not used to wearing lipstick but wants something to wear that gives some colour. But remember to hydrate your lips at night with another product!

Until next time!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter Mini Review 💅🏼👄
*
Why I bought it: ❔
*
This was not the first highlighter I purchased, but it’s the first one I like. In my vanity, I had highlighters that showed too silvery, too glittery, too unnatural. Knowing Becca’s reputation as skin-perfecting magicians, and having heard much especially about their highlighters, I dove in, encouraged by the low-commitment travel size.
*
The product: 🛍
*
Becca’s mini pressed highlighters come in four of the ten original shades available at Sephora in Italy. The mini (2.4g) is 18 euros while the full size size (8g) is 39 euros. Although you pay more for the product in the mini version, I don’t see myself finishing the full size, even after years of use, so the travel size is a no brainier for me. As it comes with a tiny mirror inside too, this highlighter is the perfect travel companion, and a lovely purchase if you want to try out Becca’s famous highlighter at a recused size and price. The shade Opal works well for my light to medium skin, but is usually recommended for darker skinstones than mine.
*
How I use it: 🧖🏼♀️
*
This tiny and compact highlighter is following me everywhere I go, especially because of its multi-functionality. In fact, not only do I use it on my cheekbones as a highlighter, but also on my eyes as a beautiful, natural glow that makes me look effortlessly fresh. This is perfect for the days where you don’t want to look like you’re wearing makeup, but you still want to do a little more than just a concealer and a mascara.
*
Advice: 👄
*
For an easy eye look, you could blend a natural brown shade (you could use your bronzer) in your crease and pat the highlighter on your eyelid with your fingers. This is incredibly effortless but looks like a complete eye look. Worn by itself on the eyes, the highlighter gives a youthful, fresh glow. I really recommend using your fingers in this case too, as the shade shows up more pigmented this way. Matching your eye shade to your highlighter shade will give your face a look of cohesion and elegance, so it looks lovely when you have a little of this highlighter on your cheeks too.
*
What does it look like? 👀
*
For a light-medium skintone, I would recommend the shade I have, which is Opal. Because the colour is so close to that of my skin, the effect is a pure glow, which I find delicate but impactful. The highlighter has a little bit of glitter too, but it’s not chunky and it’s not too glittery. It’s just enough to make your skin glowy, not just wet-looking. The effect is a beautiful natural finish which makes you look healthy and awake.
*
Notes on the purchase: ❌
*
I actually purchased the “Opal Glow on the Go” kit (20 euros) which includes a liquid highlighter - the Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight - on top of the pressed one. However I would recommend purchasing the mini pressed highlighter by itself, which performs better than its liquid companion, both on the cheeks and on the eyes. Unfortunately, the liquid highlighter simply does not compare, and you might buy the kit only if you think it’s worth spending 2 more euros for an extra product, but I would recommend to be minimal with your purchases, and to only buy what you think you are going to use.
*
Overall:
*
The pressed highlighter is one of my best recent purchases, and after both using it at home, travelling with it, and keeping it in my handbag (the tiny mirror does come in handy sometimes), I wouldn’t go anywhere without it. It makes me look fresh outside when I feel groggy inside, and brings a minimal makeup look to the next level.
*
Until next time!
