I always knew I'd get a fish tank right before I would need to undo it all and move it to a new home

I'm going to really miss the sunlight streaming on from the back of the tank

#it was designed for this room and is gonna look really out of place in my next bedroom

#I'm moving out in the next few months and now need to transport my set up tank :(#and the next room it'll live in won't get sunlight the same way so I'm gonna need to buy a real light for the plants

A foreign snail snuck into my tank. Gonna name him Chim Chim since my other snails are already named for Speed Racer

Today begins the battle against algae. Six brave shrimp and two brave snails have taken up arms to eat all of the algae they possibly can

Big news:

I'm done cutting all the wood for the tank lid. I am gluing up the sides and then paint and seal.

Gonna go out and get some shrimps and a snail to start de-algae-ing the tank

Being a nightstand, the tank sits in between my bed and the cat tree. My largest cat used the steps I designed into the aquarium stand to walk around, take a look, and get to her favorite napping spot

#fishblr #not to mention she's enjoying watching the plants move around #I still need to build a sturdy cat proof shelf above it so no cat can get into the tank #gonna verrrrrry slowly add interest into the tank but for now just water and plants

The nightstand has made it to its home. Needs some leveling cuz all the floors in my house are so uneven. The cats don't love change but are going to enjoy their first class window view until the tank goes in place
