How’s 2018 treating you so far?

It’s going alright. Just, y’know, noodling around. Not much to report, really! How’s 2018 been treating you?

Very well, thank you! Have you been keeping to any New Year’s resolutions?

Not particularly. Nothing exciting. I mean, I have a target for my 5k run, but that’s so boring.

Not boring at all. What’s your target?

I just want to run it faster than I run it at the moment. I don’t know why I’m obsessed with 5k. Mo Farah can run 5,000 metres in 12-and-a-half minutes. That’s not the target – I will never get there, obviously.  But I’d like to get under 17 minutes. At the moment I’m around the 20-minute mark. We’ll see!

Do you run with a dog?

I do actually have a new dog. He’s too young to run with me at the moment. He’s just a puppy. Eventually he’ll be able to run with me. I walk him, and then I run after that.

What breed is he?

Cocker Spaniel.

They’re the best. Cocker Spaniels love playing catch.

They do. He’s a sweetheart. 

Early Man is in cinemas now.
