There is a calm in solitude Amael could not remember experiencing, if ever she had. She paces along her open air room in the New Asgardian tower listening to crows and chatter and wagons (..some things never change…) pulled below. She can hear them all. Properly. No longer muffled by the buzz of a past she did not know.
A table has been set for two: rice wine and sweetbread. Her guest yet to make his way up the tower steps. She saw his blonde hair fifteen minutes prior, most likely held up by Loki along the way. For two who are so reserved in conversation, they do trust talking to each other.
Soft clicks of the double doors and the subtle shift of air announce his presence.
"Kisuke," Amael exclaims softly, sweeping over to give him a hug, shimmering light green dress flowing effortlessly.
"I met Loki on my way across the lobby," Kisuke says with a sly smile, knowing he was affirming Amael's thoughts.
"I suspected as much," she says playfully, waving a hand towards the tea table. "Sit with me?"
Kisuke bows, hat in one hand, arms outstretched. Amael jostled him lightly, smiling and bursting with happiness. He sits, adjusting his flowing clothes. In sync, they take wine, clink the petite gold goblets slightly, and smirk. A whole history in those shared smiles. Stories spun in the thick fate of friendship; gratitude for the unrelinquishing acceptance and stability. Only when times are pure, humble, simple do they let flow their feelings--the universe thriving in the peace.
They sit, cheerfully reminiscing; losing track of time. A soft knock, and Loki looks in at the pair.
"May I?" he asks with a smile.
"Should we?" Amael asks Kisuke, eyeing her husband playfully.
"Sore wa yarubeki desu ne?" her friend retorts smugly casual. "Come, join us, my friend."
Loki pats Kisuke warmly on the shoulder as he pulls a cushioned chair towards the table. Green shimmers in the air add another goblet.
Amael has never felt so at peace, complete in meaning and existence. She rests her hand on Loki's leg while clasping Kisuke's hand briefly, but lovingly.
