I just signed a petition to Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office: Release the Basement Tapes for us to gain better understanding of violent warning signs and ensure the safety of our schools.

It would be much appreciated if you have a moment to read and/or reblog this post.

I have recently been doing a great deal of research into the 1999 Columbine High School shooting, one of the worst mass shootings in US history. As we near the 15th anniversary of this event, it is becoming more clear to those of us studying the incident that there are crucial bits of evidence being held by Colorado police that could be used to prevent such tragedies from happening in the future. The evidence: The Basement Tapes.

The most we have of these tapes is a short audio clip (a mere 20-second leak), but we could learn so much more from these videos, the majority of which were filmed in the critical period prior to the shootings.

Keep in mind that although the two perpetrators were posthumously “diagnosed” with problems, they were considered normal by their peers, and were not under the influence during the shootings. Finding the motives and causes of this shooting has been narrowed down to pure psychological analysis and examination of warning signs. For this reason, it is critical that The Basement Tapes be released prior to 2027.

Whether you share an interest in the event or not, it would be much appreciated by many people all over the world if you would sign this petition. They are very close to having 1,000 signatures, but the Jefferson County Police (stubborn as they are) will need more than that, I’m sure. If you are unfamiliar with the event, I encourage you check YouTube. There are a variety of 911 calls, security tapes, interviews, and documentaries telling you everything you can find out.
