This town has a few sights that serve as tourist attractions—one of them being a famous sculpture in the center of the local park. It depicts a mourning woman draped over the arm of a throne, kneeling and head hung low. The eyes are veiled, leaving only the lower half of her face exposed. What makes her stand out amongst others are the blue gems of various sizes adorning her gown and the small red ones embedded into her tiara. Surprisingly no attempts have been made to pick off the precious stones — a silent rule that seemingly everybody knows; she is not to be touched.
Her origin appears to be unknown because even the locals don't know how to answer when asked. The likely conclusion is that she has been there from the very beginning.
Nobody has appeared to be worried about the sculpture being stolen or ruined until one morning when it was discovered the figure was gone while the throne remained intact in place. Then came in the report of a failed robbery at a nearby café, the witness says it was stopped by a woman who looks identical to the missing piece. She has seemingly vanished since.
In the restricted area of the circus, hidden behind one of the tents stands the said lady. A greatsword is plunged into the soil as its wielder lets go, granting it silent permission to sink in further and disappear out of sight. “Ah,” she stretches her arms back, bones popping with the movement. “It appears I am far more out of shape than I anticipated. How unfortunate.” Her head rolls side to side, letting the built up tension in her neck release.
To make herself more presentable, she dusts off any grime that she might have picked up along the way and readjusts the tiara atop of her to prevent it from slipping off — which is the last thing she would want to happen.
That was what made up figaro’s entire being, when and where to go,what to move and what to keep, where to patrol and where to be when needed. He did it all,all the best to serve. All the best to be useful to those he revered. Worshipped even. Even if he did not verbalize these notions,no his thoughts and feelings were always kept close to his chest.
Yet suddenly there was a notch in his carefully laid out plan,a being that shouldn’t be. During one of his rounds he had found her,she wasn’t dressed like any joker or fool. Wasn’t mentioned to him by the ticket taker nor jester. Thus he could only stand by as his mind ran through countless probabilities, did he miss something? Were they recently new? Were they uninvited? What should be done with them.
Finally after what felt like an eternity and no doubt him staring at her for a good handful of minutes did he make his way over. Giving her a polite bow,the bells on his clothes jingling lightly.
“Excuse me,dear guest. You seem to be in a restricted part of the circus. Do you have a ticket? I can escort you where you need to go,if you like.”
