would you say armand and sasuke have in common?

huh. they’re very different characters and i wouldn’t compare them too much bc they’re both frequently misunderstood and i don’t want to perpetuate that. but they do have a few things in common:

1. tragic backstory abt family (armand was stolen from them and converted to another culture, sasuke’s extended family and culture was genocided)

2. pedo guy grooming them. marius is grooming armand to be his vampire son-husband and orochimaru is trying to groom sasuke to be a good vessel so he can steal his body

3. canonically very beautiful and many people want them

4. i’ve seen people complain that both characters are too passive and “let” people take advantage of them for evil purposes which like. yeah see points 1 and 2 lol

5. akasha vs kaguya -> rhoshamandes and teskhamen vs indra and ashura -> sasuke and Naruto vs armand and lestat. look the main characters are very different personality and story wise but there are weird parallels with the ancient bloodlines thing. why did anne rice and kishimoto both make everything tie by back to an evil woman who caused evil by being corrupted with superpowers. the original sin strikes again

classical latin did in fact have an affirmative answer to an interrogative (sic), it's just not a cognate with modern english "yes" which is Germanic. but you probably recognize its modern descendants, spanish sí, italian sí, etc.

anyway how this is relevant to this post is that when Dido commits suicide in book 4 of the Aeneid she says "sic, sic! iuvat ire sub umbras" or "yes, yes! with joy i pass beneath the shadows" while stabbing herself, the allegory of penetration accompanied by shouts of ecstasy leading unto death being an interpretative exercise best left to the reader.
