BRIGADOON dir. Vincente Minnelli
my dash is like 90% caos now, so let me just say. luci is different from the dark lord but iâm not about erasing the trauma that he put caos characters through. my luci in that verse just fled to los angeles and heâs a âbetterâ person now. but that came at the price of âi left and stopped doing terrible thingsâ, and he thinks thatâs ok, âbecause iâm good nowâ. he doesnât understand that to become a good person he has to make up for those mistakes (iâm using this word because thatâs what he thinks of them now). so my wishlist for this verse is luci getting roasted for his past/pretending that everythingâs good now, and using his powers to help the order of hecate

â Â we donât need a reason to torment mortal boys. â
â Â Â i want both, i want freedom and power. Â â
â Â heâll never give you that, thought of you or any of us having both terrifies him. Â â

â Â Â why do you have to be such a warlock slut all the time? Â â
â Â i donât need you to tell me my business. Â â
â Â Â this .. this was a mistake. Â Â â
â Â the thing i carved more than anything in the world was revenge. Â â
â Â Â weâre going to play a game. Â â
â Â Â perhaps your life could do with more purpose. Â â
â Â must you be negative about every idea that i have? Â â
â Â a demon, demon. a scary demon. Â â

â   youâre not even here, how rude ⊠  â
â Â it felt like he was slithering down my throat. Â â
â Â demons have an awful sense of humor. can you blame them? they live in hell. Â Â â
â Â do you think that god could be punishing me? Â â

â   that worm will burrow its way back to hell where it belongs.   â
â   nothing. nothing has happened. which is the problem.  â
â Â i mean, how am i ever going to out wit the dark lord? Â Â â
â   your poor, weak, feeble heart couldnât handle the strain, could it?  â
â Â out wit the dark lord? why, [ name ], what ever do you mean? Â â

â Â why is your faith more valid than mine? Â Â â
â Â does dying hurt? Â Â â
â Â are you talking about a resurrection spell? Â Â â
â Â necromancy is one or the darkest and dangerous of sacred magics. Â â
â Â why are we burying her here? why not just leave her in the woods? Â Â â
â Â why must you always assume the universe grant you special privileges? Â Â â
â Â there is no cheating fate. Â Â â
â Â youâve crossed a line. no, no, youâve completely erased it. Â â
â   thereâs no reason to think that the spell will fail.  â

cellobowsandarrows:
âYeahâŠyeah thatâs â thatâs what I thought.â A breath caught in her chest, a shakey breath coming out. There was something not right here. Something wrong. Something that made her grasp the phone tighter, âLuci-â she never called him that, it was always his name, or prawn, but the shortened version fell from her lips in fear she wouldnât manage the whole thing without her voice shaking. âYou stay on the line?â Maybe she should have turned back butâŠwell, she had never been one to back out of things.
The cut off of his name is the final straw. He doesnât like the tremble in her breath. Luciferâs seen and heard his share of terrible things, but that just about frightens him. Heâs on his feet, disregarding the guests that heâd been chatting with before the call, âI can do you one better, Kate. Iâm on my way.â
Hot Take: Satanâs actual aim in âThe Devil Went Down to Georgiaâ was to trick Johnny into committing the mortal sin of pride. Since he succeeded, the Devil gets his soul anyway. But enjoy your functionally useless golden fiddle for the next few decades, I guess.
Even hotter take: Johnny seems like the kind of cool and fun person who was going to go to hell for enjoying life to the fullest anyway, so all the Devil really achieved was a truly impressive self-own in the form of an immortal folk song commemorating Johnny absolutely destroying him in a fiddle duel, despite the fact that the Devil cheated by summoning an entire band of demons to back him up.
