Me the minute something Petra/Rivetra related gets released

I always love how u describe Levi Petra moments. Honestly, what’s your opinion on Levi’s reaction when Petra’s father came to him telling about her devotion and marriage stuffs?

I always saw it as him being hurt and shocked at someone voicing something he might have already known deep down. I don`t think Petra ever expressed such thoughts to him. She probably spoke of her devotion to him, but I don`t think she admitted to Levi that her feelings were deeper than trust and admiration for her superior.

My view on Rivetra is that they had feelings for each other, but they were subtle in showing it. I don`t believe they would have gotten together before the titans were eradicated because they were both very dedicated to the cause they fought for. I always thought Petra would have been Levi`s chance for happiness when they were free.

So I think when her father came to talk to Levi, he confirmed the feelings Petra harbored for him. And needless to say, I think Levi was feeling guilty. For Petra having so much faith in him and him failing in protecting her. Failing in even bringing her body back to her family or keeping a part of her in his life.

Levi still remembers her vividly years later, and she was important to him. All members of his squad had horrible deaths, and yet Petra is always singled out in his mind.

I also never thought her father misunderstood Petra`s feelings towards her captain. They seemed to have a close relationship, so I think he knew his daughter well enough to read her feelings. I don`t think her dad would have dared to embarrass her if he wasn`t sure that Petra was genuinely in love with Levi. You can admire someone professionally and still be in love with them. They`re not mutually exclusive. And she`s definitely not too young to love.

What I love about this official art is that it really captures that soft, pretty, girly side that I like to believe Petra has. The pink accents and ribbon, the flower petals, the pink bouquet and crown. Even the soft expression. I think of The Last Airbender, when Suki says something along the lines of, “I’m a warrior, but I’m a girl too.” You can be both! You can be a girl and enjoy more traditionally-feminine things while still being tough and strong and badass. I think this sort of duality makes an even stronger character. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. You can be anything and everything you want. Feminine ≠ Weak. Strong ≠ Non-Feminine.
