Mason waited outside for Corey. They had set this up and he was really looking to it. Was this a date? An actual date? He wasn't sure...but they were flirting on the phone right? That was clearly flirting. It had to be. Corey was very cute and had a funny personality. They had many things in common. He wasn't crushing on him like he was with Brett, but he was attracted for sure. For.Sure. Why else could be nervous yet attracted to him? Who knew, but the anticipation was killing him.

monster!corey taylor not understanding the feelings he has for you, but he’s very protective of you.

monster!corey taylor who soon reveals himself to you one night, you were getting ready for bed before his contorted & stitched face crawled from underneath the bed, making you scream in terror as you backed up into the corner.

monster!corey taylor who quickly tries comforting you by making it known that he’s friendly; putting his hands up as he stayed in the same spot, his eyes locked on you.

monster!corey taylor who lets out an odd guttural growl as you calmed down, realizing you understood him, he sat down on your floor before pointing towards your vanity full of skincare products, wanting you to explain them to him as he became interested in you.

monster!corey taylor who’s now been living with you for 3 weeks. he doesn’t speak much due to the injuries around his mouth but he communicates through vocalization.

WIP: POSSESSIONS

pitch: Angelique Lovett has a camera, a car, and a dead little sister. These assets lead her to a near-abandoned rural town, said by her ex to hold explanations for things most people can't understand. Magic. Monsters. Ghosts. Angel's explorations start out nothing more than strange, but when she meets two young men who claim to be possessed and a girl who insists upon her ability to see their entangled futures, she falls into a new world entirely.

genre: urban fantasy, supernatural mystery

setting: a lakefront Canadian town in 1996; "the dead world", or, the world under the world

themes: loss/grief, autonomy, abuse of power, misogyny

cast: Angel, an amateur paranormal investigator. Oliver, an entertaining but tightly-wound academic. Corey, a quiet and cunning engineer. Rowan, Angel's elusive ex-girlfriend. Beatrice, the girl who can see the end of the world. Hope, the one living under the rest of them.

status: outlining. Aiming for a duology or trilogy (depending on where pacing and story take me).

If you recognize any of these characters, yay! Yippee! Wahoo! This is indeed my reboot of WIP GFS/GFW. It will follow the same character dynamics and tone, and stay generally within the fantasy realm, but this time around contain more supernatural and horrific elements to help maintain the dark fantasy grit. It doesn't necessarily sound like it from the summary, but this story will indeed delve into gods and magic in a similar way GFS did, if a bit more esoteric/indirect. My main goal is to maintain the characters that I was so obsessed with and people were so kind about before!

Aspects of this story will be quite different, as I am in fact now 18 years old instead of 14 years old and condensing this from a 5 book epic fantasy to a 2 or 3 book portal/urban fantasy, but I hope if this piques your interest or if you liked GFS all those years ago you'll come along for the ride ^_^
