Chocolate chip cut out cookies!
I decided to develop a recipe for chocolate chip cut out cookies because I LOVE cookie cutters but I don’t enjoy sugar cookies. While I have a tried a true recipe for making enjoyable sugar cookies, I can only have one and I’m done. They’re just so sweet by nature, by recipe really. But I can eat twenty chocolate chip cookies without looking back (which is a problem if it’s own).
The best part of a chocolate chip cookie, in my opinion, is the molasses. In lieu of using brown sugar and granulated sugar, I usually just use granulated sugar and add as much molasses as I’d like.
I think another crucial detail about these cookies is you want to slightly under bake them. There is always carry over cooking when baking, and these cookies are no exception. Once the edges set and you see a nice golden brown, you need to remove them from the oven. Over baking leads to drier cookies.
