As we all know,our mothers always taught us not to talk to strangers... So what happens to us when we do? If you think about it, apart from your family, everyone is a stranger until that first interaction. For us, where that interaction happens makes all the difference in how we perceive them and how they relate to us. "You met him on the street?!" "Oh we met in class" or "we met at a bar"... every way you describe someone and your first interaction is calculated when you and others perceive that relationship...it's just our instinct to analyze these things.
For me, I feel. I think that's the one thing you can be sure of when you're interacting with someone. Certain people you meet, will make you feel energized, others may have a calming affect on you and some may even drive you crazy, it all depends.
The first time I met my ex boyfriend, was on the street and we just started dancing together! I remember feeling so happy and free just looking at him and everything in the background just disappeared. Another time while I was travelling, I had an instant connection w someone on the subway! We chatted and laughed the whole ride and then that was it! It's amazing who you attract if you are open to it.
Recently, I met my newest friend Dave in the village in NYC. We were both at a little coffee shop called Bonsignor and just started chatting! We ended up spending a couple hours together talking and walking around meeting other people. The last one we interacted with was a guy named Randy. Dave and I talked to Randy for about 30 mins and gave him a baguette we had left over from the cafe. We talked about life, music and most importantly, his art of building guitars. It was great meeting someone who still has a craft like this and love for music. One of the game changers with Randy is that he's homeless. And since he loves to play music, he built himself a guitar. Dave and I are going to be starting something with Randy, stay tuned....no pun intended!
