Cosima walked away from the sauna, smoothing out her dress. Hoping to find Jae, she found the wall and started following it into the hallway. This was absurd. Maybe there was someone she could complain to in the Captiol.
She must have been close to the District Eight quarters, she thought. But then again, she hadn’t been planning on ever finding her way back in the dark. Was she even in the right part of the train? It was eerie being surrounded by darkness, and she kept turning to noises that weren’t there.
Was this her door? She tried it anyway. “Jae? Are you in here?” she called into the dark.
As soon as Atticus had made sure Beverly was safe and taken care of, he’d ventured out into the shadows of the train again in order to try and find someone with answers on their situation. Now he found himself in one of the lounges. It was abandoned now, which gave Atticus a creeping sense of dread.
He went to one of the windows and peered out into the star-speckled night sky, straining his eyes to see any movement. He was so focused on trying to find anything in the vast darkness that when the door opened, he sprung up suddenly, turning to who had entered the room.
“If they are, they are very good at hiding,” he answered after a moment’s pause.
