As my extended family and I spent time reminiscing about Grandma, I was reminded about my own childhood and being “voluntold” to pack bags for the Red Cross, and cut one million greeting cards into bookmarks for any number of projects Grandma Smithyman was involved with. After years of “voluntelling” my children to wake up early on a weekend morning to hang out at various warehouses and community events, it gives me great pleasure to see them develop their own community-based philanthropy interests, and it gives me joy to honor my grandma by passing along her desire to serve her community to the next generation. Amplify Austin officially kicks off at 6 PM this evening and runs 24 hours. Normally, I would run my own campaign for my favorite, @austindiaperbank (go donate!), but in honor of my grandma, I’m going to harp on y’all some more about Audrey’s campaign with the See Teens Give program. Audrey is raising money for more than 700 nonprofits in Central Texas, something Grandma would have been incredibly proud to see. I love seeing this glimpse of Grandma in my own kid. Audrey’s donation link is: bit.ly/audreypardee. Thank you for supporting her. ❤️ https://www.instagram.com/p/CpQLHNuOTR7zc1QOFNZjNGCKYsS_3aNMmq8PJo0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
