the au is called "black sheep."
in this au, the fight happens after hero wins a trophy in a cooking contest, while kel gets scolded by his mom for getting a bad grade.
they fight, and kel throws hero's trophy down the stairs, and then shoves hero too, by accident.
in this au, aubrey is way more messed up. it's mostly her family's fault: she's pretty much sick in the head.
she would do anything not to lose her friends, anything not to be alone with her family again.
so, she stages hero's death as a suicide.
miracolously, hero survives, but needs to get a surgery.
there are three days left until hero's surgery.
in these three days, kel will slowly descend into insanity, convincing himself that he can save hero.
aubrey will only get worse.
we will see all their hidden problems, kel's issues with his family, the way he bottles up his feelings, his issues with his family, who only sees him as an error who can't do anything right and doesn't accept him being trans, the way he feels inferior to hero.
we'll see aubrey and the messed up way she thinks, the way she gets treated by her family, her backstory.
the fic is still in writing, but there will be multiple endings. enjoy ;)
