It was one thing for Aubrey to mishear. It was another thing entirely for her to be presumptuous. “Give me five,” she told the person on the phone, hanging it up. “Miss Gallagher, let me make something clear to you. You came in to talk to me about something, and I had to take a phonecall. This is not a therapy session. I am not a resident counselor. My other work sometimes does, in fact, take priority over your little problem. If your business can wait, which I assume it can since you were sitting and chewing gum across from me like a petulant child, it will wait. If it is important, you need to schedule it and go through the proper channels.”
Aubrey raised an eyebrow at the other before rolling her eyes at the older woman. “Are you serious right now, isn’t this town supposed to be your responsibility.” she’d speak slowly so the other could understand her. “I fully understand other things have more importance then our conversation Miss Wildes, But unfortunately it is still rude to take a phone call in the presence of others.” she’d quirk an eyebrow at the other before lightly rolling her eyes. “It’s not of high importance but i thought each resident was supposed to be special in the governments eyes.”
