Diana is dying. She is, we think, in liver failure, likely brought on by her seizure meds. We started hospice care for her this weekend, which consists of anti nausea meds (which make her drool a ton, but seem to work) and pain meds, the combination of which is letting her eat again. She’s still cuddling and purring and interacting with everyone, so I know she isn’t ready to go yet. I’ll never be ready to let her go, but with the hospice care, at least I can be sure she is comfortable for the time she has remaining. She’s lost a lot of weight, in large part due to the fact she stopped eating last week (from nausea and pain), so she’s always cold. I had some yarn left from making baby afghans for @sjtuckermusic and Cat Valente, so now my baby girl has a matching mini afghan to keep her warm while she cuddles next to me, and she can have my scent while she sleeps. She’s been with me for 17 years and 5 months, going from a sickly little girl to my stately elder princess, and appointing herself my assistance cat some 11 years ago. Without any external training or prodding, she began to alert to my various illnesses and disability symptoms, frequently before I’m aware there’s an issue. Now I have to take care of her. The hospice care is costing about $65-100 a week, so if you want to help with that, my PayPal is PayPal.me/ladypoetess
Please, please, help out @ladypoetess. She’s a wonderful human being, & basically a chronic illness mentor to so many of us out here. She produces a wonderful podcast called Tips & Tricks on How To Be Sick, & is so incredibly kind. Please help her & Diana if you can.
