As Inner City Kids’s very own Aaron Cohen is beginning to gain publicity, AbGoHard appears to be on the right path to becoming the next big name to come out of the Brooklyn collective.  Whereas Aaron Cohen has a more aggressive flow, AbGoHard lightens things up with goofier lyrics and deliverance.

This is not to say that AbGoHard is a joke. In fact, he’s got a charisma that is to be taken seriously.

Mishka, just premiered this track titled, Plenty from one of the rising rappers in the states, Abgohard. The track is a haze filled thumper of a beat which features some timely phrases from Abgohard. Just another young rapper making moves and doing things his own way. Check out the track below and keep looking out for his tape, which we are so excited for.

Shouts to ABGOHARD for bringing this to my attention. Levii Ru$$ell’s (pronounced li vay muthafuhkin dəbəl dolla sayn), “Mastermind” tracks an amoebic whisper fluctuating around bass pounds, galvanized by snare shots.  Produced by Every, this guiding play between sounds shifts lines around a perturbed keyboard, nostalgic for the brilliance of the sun.  Tinkering between separations, overlaps, dispatches, and assorted confinements of this relationship reveals entry points for 8-bit coin rewards, sharp snares, drizzled key notes, and teeth-grinding hi-hats. Ru$$ell’s piece ignores the impulse to loop its sounds, mimicking the impurities of the nature surrounding him (and within).

Ru$$ell follows this highly soluble beat by toying with his own pitch(es), speeds, and clarities.  His ability to live in flux allows him to show the story of a man in solitude.  Ru$$ell’s voice is his own; his slight adjustments thoughtfully transcribe an aura of autonomy.  He agrees to set no bars on his capabilities, with a perspective that centers on self-reliance (‘If you aint comin right we leave em left / I was taught to do ya dirt by ya god damn self’).  Although he does blare lines imploring us to follow him on his journey, Ru$$ell’s backbone is straightened by his being a “lost boy.”  A paranoia sets in, born from an artist inundated with sounds, vocal levels, and lessons in isolation.  And although we sense his absolute control throughout the track, his manic dynamism paints the picture of a volatile young man.  Unpredictable to listeners, but that’s only because we haven’t yet caught up yet.

“Garden Full/Snake Pt. 2” by ABGOHARD ft. Alvie TheSkyWalker, produced by 20th letter, gets crisp, trippy visuals.  Split screen, cutt shots, AB in your face from different sides and angles; this is what happens when “Photo Booth”effects get a facelift.  Punchlines, trickery, warped voices, booming baps, AB and Alvie dig deep into the snakes in the grass.

20th simply loops pangs and a drum set tramping around synth keys whirling.  With slow intensity, AB and Alvie get to release some harbored sentiments.  Cold cities, loced and locked up kin folk, sisters giving the drop on you, codes, eyes wide open, snakes slither in the garden, smashing Eve on the heartless tip, loose-lipped homies, Martin’s Gina getting loose with it, and getting head from your girl’s mom.  

2 : 28 of unhappy times, stabbed backs, and short weed sacks.  AB and Alvie freshen an aura the city kids grew up on.  We’ve all got people on the inside, we’ve all been shorted, and we’ve all been grimy when we need to be.  Now we have a theme song.
