"For the first Weekly Sip of the new year, let's try some aquavit. What's aquavit you ask? Well, it's a spirit distilled from potatoes or grains and predominantly flavored with either dill or caraway as per EU law. Sound weird? Don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it. When used properly, this stuff is fantastic in cocktails. Some (myself included) enjoy it neat as well." - @all.equal.parts Learn more about it in our post linked in comments! Drink Recipe Trident 1 oz Aquavit 1 oz Cynar Amaro 1 oz sherry* 2 dashes peach bitters Add everything to a mixing glass with ice. Stir and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist. * I believe the original recipe called for an Amontillado (medium dry) sherry, so if you still have some from the egg nog you made last month, you are in luck! I’ve seen other recipes from sources I trust call for an even drier sherry like a Fino or Manzanilla. Regardless, the results are quite tasty. Just keep away from anything overly sweet like a Pedro Ximenez or cream sherry in this drink. (at Augusta, Georgia) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7BhGA8lRD5/?igshid=ujfkkno8u6ys
