Medication advertisements are fucking wild.
"Have treatment resistant depression? Try this nasal spray that we don't understand how it works, but it affects this thing that we think is part of depression. Side effects might include breathing problems and difficulties thinking."
And look, I reworded that for silly effect but it's literally all straight from the advertisement. What are we doing?
I forgot how annoying the two dudes from Scrubs are and now they're in commercials.

If I'm ever the subject of a true crime documentary, I will haunt anyone that claims I lit up the room with my smile or whatever shit. No, tell them about how it took me until almost 40 to finally kind of achieve emotional stability.
"From the Abyss" by Yuko Morino
As soon as the door shuts behind him, you try. You wriggle your wrists, twist your ankles, reach for tools. But he knows how to handcuff someone. He knows how to tie a knot. And he knows to move his tools out of reach from the woman he just tied up in his garden shed.
You need to trust that people will look for you. Your photo will circulate on social media. Your parents and Julie--your throat closes at the thought of the them--will put up posters. They will give interviews, plead for your safe return.
You need to trust that this is temporary, that one day the world will find you.
But there are things you know that he doesn't. Things that will work to his advantage. Anyone who knows you will say that you haven't been yourself. That prior to your disappearance, you became withdrawn. You fell asleep in class. Your grades suffered. You packed your belongings, left the city you loved and the people you knew.
A new story will emerge. Days will go by, weeks, months. People will say it to themselves at first, and then, as they get more comfortable, to one another: Maybe you went missing in purpose. Maybe you drove somewhere and allowed yourself to slip out of existence. You jumped into a ravine, fell into water. Maybe you started over somewhere else. Maybe you are free, finally, of all your demons.
No one will wait for their dead to come back to life.
Eventually, people will stop looking for you. They will stop showing your picture. They will let you fade away. They will stop telling your story, until one day you're the only one left to remember it.

"Cendrillon" by Kay Nielsen, 1913
My friend/coworker complained that every time they're at a low point they get a fortune cookie with no fortune. I remedied that.
Had a dream where I was at work and had made an offhand joke years ago to a patron that I would pay them 5% of their profit (who fucking knows, it's dream logic). They then came back and suddenly demanded at first $7k, then over $100k from me and expected me to pay it right then and there. I made an excuse that I had to go to the ATM. Then I asked all my coworkers cause I didn't remember the joke comment and they all supported the patron and told me I had to pay them, it was a contract. Then I fought back, saying a contract has to have considerations for both parties, it can't all work to one side's favor and spent the rest of my dream debating contract law. Of which I actually know nothing about. We didn't have a conclusion, other than I realized upon waking that I can't even trust these motherfuckers in a dream.
