I enjoy watching you work out, August. You get exercise for both of us.
I didn’t realise you were so lazy.
andromeda:
Your shirt’s off. Can I not appreciate?
Well it’s be a bit disturbing when you’re like a sister.
hadley:
I’m gazing. There’s a difference.
Well your “gazing” is distracting.
You’re staring.
hadley:
“I always thought you felt so indifferent towards me. I’m honored.” Hadley cracked a small smile, his gaze shyly flickering to the ground until he finally came to a full stop in front of the other. “I’ll accept that if you let me feel responsible for what happens to you.” He lifted a hand and grazed his fingers along August’s knuckles.
August flinched at the contact, eyes darted down to where Hadley had grazed with his fingers. It’d been so long since August had ever been this close to someone, let alone had thought of someone so often like had Hadley. There was something about the blond that August couldn’t shake, the man was rooted into his mind despite how sufferable August found it. “I guess you’re one of the unfortunate ones.” He ignored the fact that Hadley felt responsible for him, ignore how it twisted his stomach.
hadley:
“The same way you feel responsible for Austen.” Hadley set the bag on the counter and moved to approach the other, “It wasn’t your choice for me to move here. Anything that happens accident or not is on my shoulders, August. I don’t want you ever feeling like you’d be to blame for how my life turns out.”
August crossed his arms as Hadley moved closer, his spine stiffening at the sudden spike of emotion in the air. He hadn’t expected this turn of event. “It doesn’t matter what you want, I’ll feel the way I feel and you can’t change that. I’ll feel responsible whether you like it or not.”
hadley:
You aren’t human without caring for someone. I’m a nobody, August, my death wouldn’t be your fault.
Maybe ti wouldn’t be, but it would still feel like it.
wyatt:
It will if I have any say over it.
Listen, it’s not a mystery I’m one of dozens of people who want to see Urie six feet under, but I’m the first in line with the right set of teaching to succeed. I am making something of this life because of her, alright? I use every second of every day doing what I’m doing for Austen.
If you think that then you’re too far gone to save. This isn’t what she’d want.
andromeda:
Please, getting inked is the least of their pitiful worries. I’d never let that happen, baby.
Was there something in particular you wanted?
hadley:
I didn’t know Austen very well, but I can see she just…she cared a lot about you. I care a lot about you too.
Caring for people here gets you killed. I don’t need your death on my conscious too.
hadley:
It’s actually, um, it’s actually one of the reasons why I brought it. I just…I wanted to see how you were doing.
Oh --- um... thanks.
andromeda:
That’s the plan, isn’t it? My body, my rules.
As long as your family doesn’t chase me out of the city.
wyatt:
This isn’t just a condolence trip, August. I can’t make up for the things I’ve done and the choices I made to put us in this position, but I can tell you Morrigan won’t be a problem for long.
Nothing’s changed.
Again you’re going around sprouting off how you’re going to kill Morrigan Urie. You’re not the first and you won’t be the last to try. This is exactly why Austen died, because you’re too pigheaded to see when a cause is lost. Lay low and roll with the punches Wyatt -- make something of this life because she can’t.
wyatt:
You would if you actually didn’t interrupt and let me finish what I had to say.
I don’t need to hear to know what you’re about to say.
peter:
I guess I’ll just keep your wallet that you dropped.
Doesn’t your family have enough money?
kayden:
The greatest bartender in St. Cascadia offers a drink that they’re experimenting on, and you don’t care.
It just needs to be alcoholic. I don’t care about what’s in it or not.
andromeda:
Oh come on, a tattoo that winds up my arm would be badass.
Soon you’ll have more ink than skin.
