man, i was on a generational run with jeckole huh

i've never experienced that kind of reach with any art/ships i've done before

and to this day i still get messages and likes on my jeckole stuff

You mentioned you like toxic yuri and I’m curious about what you mean by that. What’s the end goal? Do you want the toxicity to force character growth and they end up finding happiness, or do you want the characters to remain unhealthy the entire relationship? Sorry if this comes across as judgmental, I’m told I can be overly blunt sometimes. I’m genuinely trying to start a dialogue and learn from other peoples perspectives.

i mean what you mentioned is part of it. like, they can grow together and become better or they're better off staying together to stay away from other people. also for me it can be an interesting dynamic yknow? because like, i like toxic yuri but that does not mean i like ALL toxic yuri. just like how i like yuri but not ALL. some are just boring to me whether it is toxic or not.

it's beyond what the end goal is because the journey that we as the consumer of the ship and media these characters come from in general is just as important and if not where my ultimate enjoyment of it comes from. MiziSua for example, they're toxic in a lot of ways but ALNST is a very cool project and im drawn to the world and style Vivinos and Qmeng made. in generally if it isnt my vibe i dont even care to pay attention all that much.

ALSO, the reason toxic YURI is a different flavor than like normal het or yaoi toxic is because I like to see women characters be complex. i like to see them be more than just "pure" or "innocent" and can never do "wrong." women are NOT one dimensional beings but rather multifaceted. boxing them into roles where they are not allowed to do any wrong and or never be "evil" and must always adhere to being perfect angels is boring and to an extent holds a patriarchal mindset. that mindset being that we as women HAVE to act a certain way to be acceptable when we can be whatever we want to be.

women in real life are always under heavy scrutiny for anything we do. we are not allowed to be anything less than perfect to be even taken seriously.

trying to be woke so hard that you just end up judging women. also these are CHARACTERS, she can be fucked up as much as she wants she isnt even real but the need to police her actions and say we shouldnt like characters like that is just silly af.

i see a lot of people call out others for wanting "toxic" women characters and heavily judge them for liking these characters. people are willing to have open discussions about guy characters that do evil things as well and talk about his complexity but suddenly when it's a woman "she's a bitch" and "she's just evil and irredeemable."

also just because you like it in fiction doesnt mean that it automatically equates to how you yourself want to be in real life anyway. if someone genuinely acts like that irl then obviously thats bad like wtf are we talking about
