Yeah now I'm gonna say what happened last night... I had this customer and he was like whatever. He was tipping good on stage but he gave off this vibe like he wanted to just chill so I didn't push for dances or champagne rooms or anything I was just nice to him. After 4 hours of me coming over, checking on him, then being like ok bye I'll come back but I gotta go make money, he asked me to do a dance. He paid $60 for 10 minutes, and then tries to touch me the whole time. I'm like no no no. Can't do that. He will nottttt STOP so I'm like if you don't want me to end this dance right now put a lot of money in my hand (which I know is a real shitty thing to do, but tough times). He's like don't worry about your tip you'll get it ok ok. Dances ends pretty much right then. I'm getting dressed, SAY ONE MORE THING ABOUT THAT TIP HE OWES ME, and then hand him his beer. This motherfucker pulls a $100 bill out of his pocket, RIPS IT IN HALF IN FRONT OF MY FACE, and only gives me one half. Puts the other in his pocket. He was like if you weren't so pushy for your tip I would've given it all to you. ARE U FUCKING SERIOUS. I live in Atlantic City. This city is VERY VERY poor. With a few exceptions, every single person I know is struggling to eat, pay rent, mortgage, whatever. $100 is A LOT of money. To me anyway. It really broke my heart when he ripped it in half. I cried and everything.

please don’t paint stripping as some privileged form of sex work lite – it’s not. it’s hard physical labor to dance all night, strip clubs are extremely exploitative workplaces, and we experience astronomical levels of sexual assault!
i have never once worked a shift without a man groping my breasts or vulva without my consent, ever, not in five years!
and sometimes we pay money instead of making money for all this, too. if it’s a slow night and you can’t make enough to cover your house fee and some guy tries to finger you roughly on stage? too bad, so sad. no manager is ever gonna care. you should’ve worked harder.
