I came across these pictures of flowers that my dad and I planted back in 2017. We grew a beautiful garden that year. Our yard was full of flowers.

I didn’t know then that would be the last year we would plant a garden together. Oh, if I’d known then.

This year, my boyfriend and I built a planter box. We were a bit late in the season and we lack the ideal sunshine to grow much, but we planted herbs and wildflowers, which he gets to look at from the window every day as he works, and I hear his voice carry across our apartment, the wildflowers have grown even more.

And it just reminds me of the gardens I used to grow with my dad. What I would give to grow one more garden with him again.
