SOUNDSCAPES - I

Soundscapes is a serie in progress inspired by the listening of Eliane Radigue's Jestun Mila (1987). The serie doesn't deal with the thematic study of Radigue, but only follows a subjective appopriation of her sounds. Based on a synesthetic experience, Soundscapes is the representative translation of how cell language could look like, using mold as galactic landscapes. http://aurelie-r.com/soundscapes

OREXIS Orexis is the first study of a long serie of researches.

Orexis means desire, appetite. It’s the origin of every word in -exia, anorexia, orthorexia, etc. This “appetite” I studied here has nothing to do with a “desire to eat”, but it deals with the notion of desire to access a sacred level. This craving purity which is, in my opinion, a violent and desperate current syndrome, especially generated by the loss of the sacred. You could compare it, in a certain way, to that deep need Dante had to get closer to God, to access -the notion of access is crucial in this work-the divine, the elevation. Choosing an albino man is not trivial, since albinism is considered as much a curse in some villages of South Africa (where they are killed, chased, etc.) as a divine miracle. Every code is destroyed. Grape is white, blood is blue. The meaning of sacred is redefined and still remains an obsession. This ain’t a homage to religion at all. This notion of sacred I deal with has nothing to do with religion. See here a study of the essence of human tropism.
