I haven’t updated in a bit, oops! I’ve been real busy with classes!
I absolutely LOVE my government lecture and geography classes, as weird as that may be.
I also love the friends I’ve made on my floor, they’re such amazing people. I really don’t know what else to talk about, but so far, university isn’t as bad as I thought it would be!

I’ve decided I’m going to try and document college things here, I’ll tag it “Aurora at uni” if you want to blacklist it, I guess.
There was a party last night that was super fun, and I’ve made friends on my floor. We hung out a lot yesterday and today, and we’re going to another party thing tonight that the school is hosting (not frat parties, don’t worry).
Classes don’t start just yet, we still have a few more days, but I’ve already heard from one of my professors!

First day on campus.
I woke up and got all my textbooks this morning after saying a last goodbye to my parents. I got all my textbooks for the semester for only $10!!!! How great!!
I met up with a friend from orientation, and we found all our classes. One of mine is so far from my dorm it’s going to be awful.
Other than that, I’ve really just stayed in my dorm decorating and whatnot. My roommate hasn’t been in all day but from last night we seem to get along just fine!
Today's the day!
In less than an hour I'll leave the comfort of my house and move three hours away to university. I'll meet my roommate. I'm so nervous, excited, scared, and also sad. It's funny, before my exchange I wasn't sad at all to be going an ocean away from my parents. Now it's only a car drive and I'm an emotional wreck.
I don't move out until tomorrow and I already feel homesick and want to cry. Advice?
I move into college in two days and I feel like I overpacked but I'm so excited. I keep looking at pictures online if others moving in/seeing my friends cars packed full and telling myself "oh I didn't pack that much I'm good!" but !!!! I also meet my roommate then which is kinda scary??
Dear Incoming Freshmen
Here's some advice from a recent high school graduate: 1. One bad test grade isn't the end of the world. Do your best in your classes, but know that one random test doesn't define you. 2. Don't leave food/drinks in your lockers. Seriously, don't. 3. Go to class. Don't skip. 4. Always bring your textbooks and required readings to class. 5. The upperclassmen aren't as scary as they may seem. They're just ready to be out. 6. If anyone picks on you because you are a freshman, there's a good chance they're a sophomore. 7. Be nice to teachers. Some will be hard to deal with, but be nice. They control your grade and you may need recommendations for college later on. 8. Don't stress about which college you want to go to just yet. You'll be asked, but it's okay to not know. It's also okay to not know what you want to major in. 9. Your friends from middle school may not stay your friends. Your friends freshman year may not be your friends sophomore year. So on and so forth. 10. Enjoy your time. Do well in school, but don't stress too much. -From a member of the class of 2017.
