“Bees are good,” Rose Quartz says as the Crystal Gems scream.
How to beat them
Gems are powerful
They are dangerous
They are tough
But they arent invincible
Which means they can be beaten, even by a lowly Human
Heres how I think we can beat them in a fight, even without firearms
Amethyst
Threat Level: Moderate
Her nature makes her one of the easier Gems to deal with. She acts without thinking, meaning her preferred method of attack is pure brute force and can easily be out maneuvered.
The upside to this is that she adjust to the situation quickly, but will usually be unsure of what to do. Constantly switching tactics will leave her frustrated and confused.
Acquiring control of her weapon and turning it against her shouldn’t be too hard. It is a whip after all.Though a powerful surprise, avoid getting caught by it, as it will spell your doom.
Get inside her head and taunt her. Make her angry and she will make mistakes. When she makes a big one, strike, and take her down.
Mind games and shuffling tactics are your best friend against her
Pearl
Threat Level: Moderate
Unlike Amethyst, Pearl thinks before she acts, her method of attack is using her agility to maneuver herself into striking her opponent while remaining out of harms way, and has patience to wait her enemy out.
Problem is, she doesent think objectively, and her arrogance makes her stay in one form rather than switching to suit the situation, believing her first choice is the one that will win the day.
This makes her predictable, and once you understand her style of attack, she can be brought down
Her attack style is more that of a dance than fighting style, and is overly showy and can be impractical. This, combined with her spear, which is more of a cutting tool, requires her to have lots of room to move around in.
Be careful of her ranged beam spear attack, try to stay close to her, or find a way to neutralize it.
Immobilize her, try to minimize her area of movement. Attempt to engage her in tight spaces and confined corridors. Use dirty underhanded tactics to surprise and trick her
She may be able to dodged 20 strikes, but she might not be able to take 1.
Garnet
Threat Level: Very High
Dangerous to be certain, her status as a Fusion gives her enormous strength and power. Best way to beat her is to unfuse her. Which is unlikely to happen.
That being said, her greatest asset is her foresight. This alone makes her a powerful brawler, and coupled with her gauntlets, allows her to not dodge most attacks, but block them too. Meaning she can outlast nearly any enemy in a fight.
Finding a way to neutralize that alone will go a long way to beating her. Fortunately, it only seems to extend to what she knows about, so keeping several surprises up your sleeves should give one an edge.
Though its preferable to have the enemy engage you on your terms, its almost critical against Garnet. Setting up a battlefield with predetermined traps should be looked into prior to engaging.
Overwhelming force is almost a must, as a solitary Humans stands almost no chance against Garnet and her speed and foresight. Though she block nearly anything, she cant block everything at once. She only has two hands and two legs. So attack her from 5 or more different directions at once, and she wont be able to avoid getting hit.
Having a wild card would also help. Predetermine 3 separate battlefields full of traps, set one up yourself, and have the other two setup by someone else, then have 3 separate battles with her. Then, have a 3rd party come during one of those 3 battles at an undetermined point. This way, the unpredictability factor is maximized, and Garnet is less likely to see it coming.
Finally, have an ultimatum ready. Capture Pearl, Amethyst, Steven, and any innocent civilians, and have them placed in such a way that Garnet has to surrender or risk getting them hurt. However, one does not need to actually put someone in harms way. She can see alot of things, but cant see through deception, no more than a Human can. A convincing lie would suffice to draw her out. Perhaps even use it as a way to make her unfuse. A time limit to save 2 desperate people at once would give her no choice.
It will be the unorthodox and cunning that will bring Garnet low.
Jasper
Threat Level: High
Basically, Amethyst, only bigger and more dangerous.
Stay out of her reach or be ripped to shreds. Engage her at range if possible.
Taunt her, wound her pride and rile her up to the point she makes bigger mistakes and strike her when shes open.
Her meaty bara hands makes her grabby grabby, so wearing something along the lines of spiked armor should make her keep her paws to herself.
Tricking her into impaling herself against a wall of spikes, or running off a cliff shouldn’t be too hard. Hope your matador skills are up to par!
Try to engage her in tight quarters where you can strike and go into hiding quickly and easily, and able to get the high ground just as much. A crumbling building, or warehouse with lots of stuff would be ideal, though be careful when she decides to smash everything.
Setting up improvised traps are also a good tactic, as she wont be paying attention to find those.
Lapis Lazuli
Threat Level: EXTREME
Do NOT engage near any body of water
Her Hydrokenetic powers gives her full control over it, including lakes and whole oceans. Giving her the ability to drown the entire world if she desired, and she nearly did with a cracked Gem!
That, and she can create water clones, which are even more powerful than the originals they are based off of, as they are very difficult to destroy, allowing Lapis to take on whole Armies by herself
Its unclear if her powers extend to other forms of liquid or ice
Obviously, its best to engage her in the desert, without her water, she doesent seem to be much of a threat. Its unclear if she has an actual weapon on her, so be aware.
If engagement near water bodies is unavoidable, using soundwaves to disrupt her powers is a must. LRAD’s and other Sonic devises should suffice, but explosive and seismic inducing equipment might also help.
Given that its water we’re talking about, electrical attacks might do something, but this is an unknown factor, and might backfire. Still, worth a shot to try.
Freezing liquid might be viable, but shouldnt be counted on unless you can freeze it all. Otherwise, you just gave her a big rock to through at you.
Try to wear an oxygen tank and diving mask to maximize your chances of success.
Careful planning, preparation and luck are all critical in any engagement, but here, its required
Peridot
Threat Level: Space Dorito Unclear, perhaps Minimal. Requires more data.
Peridot is an unknown
We have never seen her fought, nor do we know if she has a weapon.
She might be no more dangerous than the average Human on her own for all we know.
What is known is that she has control over Robo-noids, and other types of Gem technology, such as the Gem Warships.
Its possible that she can take control of these things, and use them to engage her opponents in that way.
That being said, its better to find a way to neutralize her machines. Either the machines themselves, or a way to cut her off from them.
However, it is likely that she does have some sort of weapon for her personal defense, and should be treated as such.
If one engages her, proceed with caution.

General tips
—–
Its better to try and reason with the Gems than fight them. They maybe rocks, but they are also people
Divide and conquer, avoid engaging them when they are together, take them on one at a time.
Use the terrain and traps to your advantage. Surprise them where and however you can.
Trickery is a powerful tool. The Gems are thousands of years old, but they are still susceptible to being fools.
Have an ace in the hole, always. Along with ample tricks up your sleeves.
Exploit their weaknesses, use their arrogance against them.
Engage them on YOUR terms, dictate their strategies, and think ahead.
Expect the worst, so prepare for it too.
Become friends. Your worst enemy, might become your greatest friend. There is no greater way to eliminate a threat than to become companions.

It really did make more sense in my head
Would Gems even be affected by life fibers. The bodies of Gems are illusions. They technically don’t wear clothes.
Idk guys chime in on this I can’t really recall how life fibers work
Time for research lmao
// Its possible with non biological matter but there still needs to be some sort of biological catalyst for it to work.
For example, Honnouji academy’s own automotive club leader basically merged not only life fibers with himself but with a car as well. But then again, this is life fibers.
No need to explain that shiz. :P
(( Ok see that still makes sense. Thanks for helping!
I’d imagine that for Life Fibers to really take hold, they’d probs need a Gem reprojecting its body (thus fulfilling the biological catalyst criteria). Then it could probably hijack the Gem’s material form and control it from there? What do you thinjk? ))
I’m still an SU blog I swear.
The hiatus has made me antsy as hell.
Hm. After some research (read: studying the life fiber article on the kill la kill wiki) I have come to this conclusion:
Life Fibers probably wouldn’t affect Gems all that much, unless they were downed.
Since Life Fibers need to get into a species’ DNA at an early evolutionary stage, I don’t think Life Fibers would mesh well with the Gems and their illusionary bodies.
However, the Kill la Kill Wiki states that
Life Fibers are parasitic organisms, living off the bio-energy that exists within the cells of the nervous system as well as in the circulatory system.
It’s kinda unclear how Gem anatomy works, but it’s clear that they can feel pain. They don’t need to breath, however, nor do they have blood or any circulatory system, so that’s out of the question. However ,the energy that comes from a Gem that has been forced back into their gem could possibly be susceptible to Life Fiber influence. If the bio-energy resonated properly with the Life fibers, then it might work.
But then again, this is all speculation.
Feel free to comment on this and let me know if I missed anything, because I feel like I might have.
