Toasting Alan Rickman’s birthday. You are sorely missed.
“A grief observed”, C.S Lewis
Recited by Alan Rickman.
(21 February 1946 - 14 January 2016)
Such an interesting piece of speculation. Did Jane Austen write music as well?
Toasting Alan Rickman’s birthday. You are sorely missed.
First published this day, January 28 1813 in three hardcover volumes.
‘I want to tell you that I have got my own darling Child from London;—on Wednesday I received one Copy, sent down by Falknor, with three lines from Henry to say that he had given another to Charles & sent a 3d by the Coach to Godmersham’.
Jane Austen in a letter to her sister Cassandra.

I’d been afraid of this for some time. Reading a tweet a few months back by someone who was jealous of her friend, because she was nursing Rickman. The tweet quickly disappeared. Reading about him leaving the film The Limehouse Golem. Everyone was very secret about the reason. Seeing one of his latest pictures, attending the press night of “Hangman”, looking a lot thinner and less healthy. Unfortunately, I was right. He was ill, very ill.
Looking back at his ‘world tour’ last year, promoting his film, it really was his ‘farewell tour’, visiting places and people he loved for the last time.
My thoughts are with his wife and family. R.I.P Mr Rickman! You will be sorely missed.

Two of his ‘scribles’, as Alan Rickman called them, of his vision for two gardens in ‘A Little Chaos’ (presented during his interview during Live with Kelly and Michael, 2015).
