#RETROVEMBER2025: 1.1 Iguanodon (1854)

Gargantuan herbivorous reptiles from parts of Europe. They have been known to reach 60ft (20m) in length with older individuals perhaps growing larger. An old wives' tale states that the body is big enough to host of banquet of 20 people inside it.

Iguanodon live in family groups of cows and calves while bulls roam for territory on their own. Caution is needed when encountering a bull, as it will defend its territory aggressively.

The Megalosaurus is the primary predator of Iguanodon, but even it needs to act carefully when hunting these beasts.

Iguanodon have been overhunted in the past years due to their horns and shield scales being valuable for alternative medicine and as trophies. It won't be long until they face extinction.
