Thankful that avoiding the treadmill has been so easy the past few days. 👍🏻
Didn't want to go for a run today, but I did. I was slow and I wanted to quit but I kept going. I haven't been running much lately and it's actually been since about mid December that I've ran consistently at all. Yup, good to know it's still hard. I signed up last week for the Glass City Half Marathon in Toledo, Ohio which will be on April 23rd. I'm going to use a Hal Higdon program again, today being the start. My hiatus is over! I'm also doing the Brooklyn Airbnb Half Marathon in May. So excited for that one! Also, anyone else been listening to the Stranglers podcast?? SO GOOD.

As soon as I finish this mini bottle of champagne, I'm calling it a night and heading to bed. This grandma just can't hang. Ready to wake up in 2017!
GOALS FOR 2017
- Run more races. I want to do another half marathon this Spring, I’m still looking to find one as I didn’t get into the NYC half.
- Run my first FULL marathon this Fall. Hoping to get into NYC as watching my dad run it in 2015 is what made me want to start running. If I don’t get picked from the drawing I think I’ll do the charity option to get an entry.
- Get back on track with WW. (I let the holidays get the best of me).
- Win the same DietBet that I signed up for last year, and lost. Second time’s the charm???
- Find more running friends / meet more people with similar goals + aspirations. I want to try Meetup.com!
- Read at least 1 book each month.
- Be more kind, to myself and others.
I need new running shoes because somebody convinced me to run a marathon. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Nike Frees, but I am looking for other info and advice on light weight running shoes.
Also pants. I will need good pants for running.

I feel like my friends and I have grown distant throughout this past year and I don’t know if it’s because we’re getting older and have jobs, other obligations, and significant others (not me LULZ) or if we’re just not working hard enough to keep in touch. I feel like I’m always the one reaching out and everyone is just too darn busy. I don’t want to feel like I’m some kind of inconvenience and I guess I’m just feeling a little sad that things won’t always be how they were. I’m just going to try to stay busy, keep working on myself, and let the rest of my life fall into place.

This January, I am going to sponsor a casual, mutual-support group that will focus on running and I would love you to join us! Here is what I have in mind for some guiding principles and activities for the group:
Everyone is welcome! If you have never ran before, you are welcome. If you just ran the Boston Marathon, you are welcome. No matter who you are or where you are on your journey, you are welcome here.
I will post weekly prompts to stimulate discussion.
You will be encouraged to set and track goals as you see fit.

Monday chillin. After what seemed like FOREVER, my Detroit Half Marathon shirt finally came in the mail! Due to an issue with the manufacturer, they didn't have the shirts ready for us back in October for the race. Better late than never! My classes for the Fall semester are (finally) over, and now I'm currently celebrating with pizza and Portlandia. A++.
