Subway Masters: Autistic Joy is a fandom event dedicated to content of Ingo and Emmet being autistic and happy! In the wake of Legends Arceus, there’s been an overwhelming amount of angst in the submas tag, and this event aims to provide a respite from that, without causing discourse or stepping on toes.
The event will run from July 24-30th, with the following prompts:
Day 1: Journey/Beginnings
Day 2: Stimming/Understanding
Day 5: Pokemon/Friendships
All forms of participation are welcome and encouraged! Art, fic, cosplay, edits, so long as you follow the rules. In addition, participation in this event does not require you to fulfill all of the prompts! You can make content for as many or as few as you like; however, participants who fill prompts for all seven days may receive a small reward, which is yet to be determined.
Forbidden content: blankshipping, heavy angst (suicide/ideations, being stuck in hisui forever), Zoroark AUs (see resources page on this topic)
Anyone found to deliberately engage in blankshipping is not permitted to participate in the event. If you ship the brothers, this is not for you. Folks who have engaged in the angst will not be condemned or judged for it, but this is a gentle reminder to separate those spaces. We’re trying to create content that is safe and pleasant to engage in for submas fans who are burned out on the angst.
Conditionally permitted: ableism (must be appropriately tagged; preferably light and only for purposes of contrast or hurt/comfort), Ingo in Hisui (remember what the purpose of this week is, and ask yourself whether content of him in Hisui is subverting that angst or would be better suited outside of this event.)
This event is for anyone who follows the rules, not just for autistic content creators. With that being said, it is about uplifting autistic voices and perspectives, and no one is immune to accidentally perpetuating ableist tropes and narratives. Resources will be provided on this topic.
In addition, we ask that you make an effort to create accessible content. This includes, but is not limited to: image IDs, proper content warnings, and transcriptions when applicable. No one is perfect, and we do not expect perfection, merely that you accommodate others when asked.
