How do you feel about Toko (Toph x Zuko)?

It’s my first time hearing about this pairing!

They do understand the pressures of upper class family expectations in a way the others can’t, and also share that sarcastic bitter edge, so I can see it.

Even so, I prefer them as friends (mainly because Zuko is just super gay to me). I think these two really get along after the events of the narrative as they all grow up, there’s a lot of affection there!

So, yeah, like it says, we're very close to being out on the streets. I thought maybe my mom would be willing to rent her two spare bedrooms to me, but she's basically gone "Yeah, maybe, if you get rid of your ESAs, maybe." which....I'm emotionally dependent on my ESAs. I tried to play a with a little bit of a meaning to the piece, attempting to make zuko look fierce and stuff while his reflection has more of an insecure and scared expression. Y'know, typical Zuko shit.

rewatching Avatar is so weird because Sokka is literally the only thing keeping them alive and fed. He constantly is like,

'guys we're out of supplies/ we need to stop/ we're attracting too much attention with the flying bison we should walk' etc.

Like in the ´The Storm' when they're completely out of money and supplies the one to get a job in hopes of making money (he never actually gets paid, the world hates him) is Sokka.

In 'The Waterbending Scroll,' it's Sokka who's concerned about their lack of supplies when Aang sends them in a wave down the river, and is making sure they're careful with their spendibg when in town shopping.

He's also seen to catch fish and gather nuts (I know more often than not he fails to catch things on screen but it's implied he's the one that does most of the hunting and gathering)

It's like- Aang totally would have starved to death or gotten completely off track with often they're completely out of food and money

it has been years since i watched atla but truly the way to characterize zuko is how iroh describes him as an idealist. and at first it sounds strange because it seems like zuko gave up on idealism and then got it back. but i dont think this is true. actually zuko in s1 is crafting his ideal world in his head where the avatar is fully alive and he captures him and his father loves him. zuko gets an Ideal and then just truly shoots towards that goal like a rocket. zuko isn't "optimistic" in the sense he does think shit will always go wrong, he is just "idealistic" because every time something seems impossible he just grits his teeth through it and MAKES it possible. this is also why i can't imagine zuko NOT being fire lord at the end of the show, not because it makes him happy, but because now zuko has a new Mission (help the world heal from a CENTURY of war) and he's insane so he's going to do it. i truly cannot imagine zuko going to bed at night without some crazy ass goal to achieve i think he'd chew the couches or something.

he does this all the time now i think about it. every plan he ever does its not about if its 1. possible 2. consequences. 3. even his health security or happiness. zuko crafts his damn reality around what he wants and then he figures out a way to shape the world into what he wants by brute force. such as finding the avatar. and blue spiriting into a fortress. and going 'lol my dad would totally understand me violating my banishment for 5 seconds to get the avatar' (delusional) to being like 'i can get in the northern water tribe, which has been isolated for 100 years' & swimming w/ the seals. and then he just does it with the avatar. truly is like 'im teaching that little twerp firebending i dont CARE how it happens.' offers himself prisoner. loses his firebending. aang is like 'can we take a break' FUCK no. and then they gave him a country and no term limit.
