The first car we came across and what a beauty – Datsun 280Z 2+2 built by Big Mike and Gas Monkey Garage
It only took us nearly a year or so to go through the mountains of photos that we took from SEMA and pair it back to the odd hundred to bring you this article!!! Dedication or what!
Lets go through some of the numbers;
Never have I experienced anything like SEMA. Spread over three days, across the vast complex of the Las Vegas Convention Centre, SEMA or Specialty Equipment Market Association, is a trade and media only show and is not open to the public. This is unlike any auto event on the planet, it’s literally the Superbowl of Car Shows. Lucky for us that Autolifers head honcho Patrick was able to secure media passes to this years show!
Arriving on Day two, not knowing what to expect (to be honest my last car show was VAGE in Fermoy, Ireland in 2011!!!!!) my mind was overwhelmed. I just didn’t know where to look or stop looking.
Ferrari F12 Berlinetta by Creative Bespoke and Savini Wheels
From Super Cars such as the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta to American Muscle Cars, Hot Rods to vintage JDM,.
Let me tell you what Melba Toast is packin’ right here, all right……We’re talkin’ some f*****’ muscle. “David Wooderson”
This is the show that will impress every car enthusiast. Words just can’t describe the quality on show at SEMA. Not a scratch, a millimeter of dirt or scuff mark on any of the exhibits on display.
How awesome is this 1973 BMW 3.0 CS
For me, it was the Toyo Tyres Treadpass that stole the show for me, with the magnificent wide body 1973 BMW 3.0 CS, the beautiful 1963 Porsche 356 and a 1968 Porsche 912.
I loved this 1963 Porsche 356 and i’m not a Porsche person!
Having said that, Ford’s display was jaw dropping, with the 1967 Le Mans winning FORD GT40, 2017 FORD GT along with Ken Block’s Hoonicorn amongst others on show.

The Ford GT Mk IV driven by Dan Gurney and AJ Foyt to the overall Le Mans victory in 1967
Roll on SEMA 2018, I’ve just ordered my two knee and leg replacements for next years event.
Check out the gallery below for more photos as we’ll just have to let the photos do the talking. (Warning image heavy!!)
