Spinning this lovely braid

Since there's just the one really dark spot, I'm stripping the braid lengthwise so there will be more color changes. First I spit it into 4 and each 4 is split into 2-4 pieces for spinning. I've got half of it on the bobbin

It's got long and short fibers (alpaca, silk, camel and merino) so I'm being careful when I draft. Also the silk is sticking to itself so I've even done some predrafting. I'm trying for thick and thin bits - I want texture.

The goal is to chain ply for a super soft yarn.

The plyback looks perfect!

I thought about leaving it until tomorrow to ply, but it isn't even 8pm yet, I've got lots of time!

It took less than an hour to ply!

Pre-wash math gives me 115m. It's so soft and I love the inconsistency. Very texture

It's having a bath now, I'll do some glamor shots when is dry tomorrow
